You people are soooo frickin STUPID!

"One of the most famous lever-action firearms is the Winchester Model 1873 rifle, but many manufacturers - notably Marlin and Savage - also produce lever-action rifles. Even Colt's Mfg. Co. produced 1883 until 1885 6403 lever-action Colt-Burgess rifles. Mossberg produces the 464 in centerfire .30-30 and rimfire .22. While the term lever-action generally implies a repeating firearm, it is also sometimes - and incorrectly - applied to a variety of single-shot or falling-block actions that use a lever for cycling, such as the Martini - Henry or the Ruger No. 1."

Who is trying to ban guns?

Are you really comparing lever action to an AR15 with a bump-stock? That's plain silliness.

You linked from Facebook, so I can't see the video.

Another question: Do you really get all of your news from Facebook?

Had you seen the video IDIOT you would have seen that a lever action is in fact absolutely as fast and actually more accurate than a bump stock!

The guy hit the gong on every shot!

You are a fool of the highest order!

Do you really think I would have posted it if it wasn't as fast as a bump stock?!?!?!

IQ89 strikes again!

Yep, they are an issue too.

I suggest you go along with some sensible safety regulations now and have them on the books before the next generation takes power. They are quite different and will deal with the high mass kill rate in a more extreme fashion.

What a Drama Queen....

If you are going to make stuff up, you need to get better at it.

First off, that is a Cowboy Action Shooting competitor using firearms specific and modified to play that type of game. The loads they use are bunny-fart loads.  The rifles have to be a pistol caliber and make a power factor of 150, and they are typically tube fed.  Serious competitors cut as close to that 150pf number as they can.  So, I don't know what caliber that rifle is, but as an example if it is shooting a 200 grain bullet then it is probably in the 775-825 fps range to make power factor.  Maximum rifle ranges for that game are 50 yards.  That is nothing compared to a real rifle caliber like a 300 savage, 30-30, or 22-250 like the Browning you posted above (which could not be used for Cowboy Action shooting. Also, the stock mags for the Browning lever gun hold 4 rounds, and no there is no off the shelf high capacity magazine available).

Here is a youtube vid of ol' Smokestack making a run, might be the same run in FK'ers facebook rip but from a different angle.  He is obviously good at the game, but you can see the targets are fairly close and it indeed is a game.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EB4AvfKBcRo

Another vid of Smokestack on a different stage.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WDFwlsmJpg

I've had a few lever guns and like them.  My favorites were a Savage 99 in .300 Savage, a .22 Marlin 39A, and a beat up old Marlin in .41 mag caliber.   None of those guns could possibly shoot as fast as "ol Smokestack's lever gun (which has been modified for the cowboy action game), and except for the .22 39A they recoiled a hell of a lot more than his lever gun shooting those bunny fart loads.

I'm not a cowboy action shooting guy, but do enjoy other shooting sports.  Trying to use this vid of a gamer lever gun to justify bump stocks is stupid and deceiving.  They are not the same thing.

I've played with bump stocks and binary triggers and think there should be some regulation so they are not available to the general public.  What that regulation would look like is what needs to be talked about.  And, just for the record - I am not in favor of going back to the '94 AWB days and banning high cap mags.

FK'er - please don't pretend to speak for the entire shooting community.   Anyway, rather than posting on some silliy Surfing forum shouldn't you be drilling with your "militia"?  Hoveround broke?

YO....ASSHOLE....

ANYONE can 'bump fire' ANY semiauto rifle with their finger!

They can use a belt loop as well!

They can rapid-fire a lever action with outrageous speed.

ALL of these weapons have been around forever!

MORON!

Most lever action were four shots. Apples. Most ar's come standard with a 30 shot clip , except in California. Bump stocks have to fired from either the hip or in front of you, using the recoil to apply continuous fire. This means that they are spray and pray as far accuracy goes. The only way to effectively kill people with a bump stock would be to shoot in a densely populated crowd from overhead. That's an orange.

Now how is this an attack on lever actions?

You can go pick up three this afternoon!

You can get some 30 shot mags too while you're there!

30 round mags for a BLR?

If they exist, not as readily available as those for AR.

PS - I love lever actions and have a few.

Glide, they don't exist off the shelf for the Browning.   There is no store or online source that stocks them for a Browning lever gun.  If there was the FK'er would post a link, but since they don't exist he can't...so like a good widdle troll he tries to deflect and change the conversation.

Is is possible to make a weld-up mag that holds more than 4 rounds?  Sure, it can be done.  But there ain't any sitting on the shelf at your local Cabela's.

Wouldn't a 30 round tube fed be kinda, um, unweildy?

My old Model 94 just holds 5, to hold 30,

my math makes the barrel about 10 ft long.

Tom- it isn't the length that matters, it is the girth.
