No, he shouldn't have done it. It is wrong for many reasons and it stuck with him. My big beef with this scenario is the way it came out. If Franken actually did assault her, which I am doubting every day, the way her story leaked was very bad as it was reported by Roger Stone first, as a gotcha moment rather than her just coming out and explaining her story. They made it political, not personal. It's suspect. The other things that bother me is the fact that the GOP is trying to shame Franken with this one accusation while Trump has near 20 accusers and he has threatened them legally and physically. Franken apologized and said he is willing to to a hearing. If she truly is a victim she is being exploited by the GOP on top of it.

That is clearly a separate incident from the forced kiss.

Other thread mentions Roger Stone's involvement in publicizing this. He is a known hit man. It is a good calculation on his part really, knowing that these other photos from the tour would emerge. It forces people into a trap between condemning Franken and the appearance of victim shaming/blaming.

The forced kiss in condemnable. The flak jacket grab, not so much in the context of all the other imagery from the tour.

I kind of agree with David Brooks' statement on NPR last Friday. Can't really throw all these guys in the same basket with Weinstein, Trump, and Clinton.

I don't think he grabbed anything. It kinda looks like his hands are on the flack vest. He called for the investigation so I'd bet it's a big NYET! As far as the forced kissing, the woman said she agreed to "rehearse" the kiss. and there's a pic of the kiss in progress during the skit. Not for nothing, the woman has been described as a Faux Snooze Contributor.
