As insecticides go DDT is pretty benign when used in small scale targeted applications.

The problems that we had in the US was that the stuff was super cheap and super effective and farmers broadcast tons and tons of the shit year after year. That is where the bioaccumulation and other ecological knock on effects got severe and led to the eventual ban.

If they were really concerned with government debt and freedom then they wouldn't fall for the Republican supply-side tax scam. That plan to make it so that the handful of huge multinational corporations that control the vast majority of national wealth aren't subject to tax or regulation smells of 16th century Feudalism. Even if 99% of the population controls only 1% of national wealth they are still expected to pay 99% of the taxes to fund the wars that the 1% cause and promote.
