That's funny - -
- - Football pool at work. Last year and the years before we had a winner's pool
between $200-$300 at $5 per entry.

This year we are running around $80-$100.

People do care - -
- - even some of the "football fanatics"

They do care and are not watching, nor entering the pool this year, because of the kneeling - -
- - and that's what they said.

People being broke or pinching pennies has nothing to do with some dudes kneeling. Your small circle is not a representation of the USA.

Even if they do lose ratings and then they sack players that kneel, they'll lose even more ratings because I'd bet they'd lose a good pool of players that make the game interesting to watch and lose even more ratings than siding with the protests. Think of all the new recruits that will kneel, important players for potential viewership. It makes sense to side with the protesters whether you believe it or not. There is not enough of a percentage of people to effect game sales. Can't believe this is even a conversation, so petty. If you boycott a game because someone silently protest, you need to get your head checked.

And that is "your opinion" - -
- - It's about respect of your country, the flag and the national anthem.

That's not petty - -
- - in my opinion.

It's not about respect of our country, it's about your feelings being hurt. If it were about respect of our country and fallen heroes, people would be fine with the protests. Soldiers die to uphold the constitution. They swear an oath on day one of enlistment to defend the constitution, our rights. Arguing against this fact, yeah an opinion and you have a right to it, is ignorant and vain. The protests actually honor our country and heroes. Boycotting protesting is like boycotting soldiers signing up to fight to die to defend the constitution. It's all ignorant and hypocritical.

Protesting is fine - -
- - but disrespect is not.

There are many other ways to protest - -
- - and they would have gotten their point across better.

I know you'll have a response - -
- - but it's your right to be both ignorant AND wrong at the same time.

I'll let you have the last word, as you are a NSR resident with ideas and
thoughts that are, to say the least, muddled.

By not standing for the anthem they are protesting the country. They are not protesting the police or racial profiling or what ever the hell they think they are protesting. It is the national anthem of the United States, not the anthem of the police. So they are protesting the country that allows them to protest, brilliant. I find it disgusting, just My opinion though.

Who are you to decide what they are protesting?

They say the protest is over the treatment of black men in our society.

What makes you right and them wrong?

I was right.

Nah, not muddled at all. I know what I swore to uphold when I joined the Army, the constitution. I'm very clear with what the constitution states and what service members die for. Those that feel that men silently kneeling during the anthem is disrespecting the military and our country have muddled opinions and thoughts. They are the ones that do not have clarity, only a vain opinions.

Not about the news. It's about knowing people. People are addicted to football. Taking a knee won't mean crap to addicts.

I didn't watch today, did everyone stand like little Donny said they would?

He did say it was required, right?

Capitalism is based on the ridiculous notion that you can enjoy limitless growth in a closed, finite system.

In biology, such behavior of cells is called "cancer".

Events like this are why the players are doing what they're doing...

Family: 86-year-old in intensive care after Kingstree police used Taser against unarmed black motorist

An 86-year-old unarmed black motorist in Kingstree was jolted with a Taser because the white police officer who stopped him worried that the wandering dementia patient would be hit by a car.

Albert Chatfield remained hospitalized in intensive care Friday, four days after being injured during the confrontation in the small town two hours north of Charleston, family members said.
