Commander in Chief Trump's speech last night was taken out of the recycling bin.
More troops, more threats against Pakistan, more talk of holding crooked Afghani bureaucrats accountable and more of the same.

What happened to "America First"? Why are we taxpayers and parents expected to give more to a gruesome hole on the map that we've contributed to enough already?

This president has yet to deliver any kind of major legislation. He has failed to achieve any of his major campaign promises and none of his actions since becoming the chief executive have in any way made America great.

This presidency is a bad reality show with low ratings that is on the verge of being canceled. Turn the channel.

The US is going to "win" soon.

Sure it's a new nation that never had much unified "nation-ness", it's always been run by a collections of feudal warlords, like Europe was just a few centuries ago and like a lot of the world that hasn't yet learned that the consent of the governed and the rule of law is what makes a nation.

Of course most people in Afghanistan want peace and education. (for men)
And most of them probably want Iranians, Pakistanis, Americans, Brits and Trumpists (Russians) to just leave them alone and let them figure out how to get there.

Foreign presence and attempts to drive them into one camp or another are what create more extremists, what made that place a mess, not some inherent flaws in the Afghan psyche.

My son Mst. SGT USAF is there now. Been there 6 months. Comes home for 3 weeks in mid Sept, then back for another 6 months. He has lots of inter action with the locals. He confirms.
