CNN Denies the Existence of 'Alt-Left' - And People Quickly Agree: The 'Violent Left' Is Mainstream

President Trump caught a lot of criticism when, after being questioned about the white supremacists in Charlottesville  - who were linked to a group referred to by several outlets as the "alt-right"  - turned the question back on reporters, asking about the violence perpetrated by the "alt-left."

An expert speaking to CNN quickly determined that the term "alt-left" was made up:
But Oren Segal, director of the Anti-Defamation League's Center on Extremism, said this is simply a rebranding - "a new name for this old hatred."

It's a "made-up term" used by people on the right to "suggest there is a similar movement on the left," Segal said.
But there's no equivalent with the anti-Semitic and bigoted groups that call themselves "alt-right", he said.

But it wasn't long before, surprisingly enough, people began to agree with CNN's expert. But they carried that argument to its logical conclusion; if there is no "alt-left," then left wing violence must necessarily be mainstream:

Aside from the obvious incorrect dollar amount, caps lock and spelling issues"THEY" is us.

That happened several decades ago when the employer provided care became a pre-tax benefit.

Repeal Obamacare. Repeal the tax subsidy for employer provided insurance. This will make healthcare a pure market regulated commodity. Do it already. You've got all three branches of the federal government. Get it done.

American companies are operating in and benefitting from the lax regs in the third world. I'm all for tightening up regs overseas as a condition of trade deals. Flat pulling out of Paris and TPP was a dumb approach to acheiving better environmental regs here or there.

Republicans have had Congress since 2010. At some point the Republicans need to thing about paying for the wars that they love so much.

The president is talking about spending gogillions on infrastructure while cutting taxes. On this point I'd say the Democrats have more credibility on the deficit going forward. We should tax trades and capital gains at a higher rate. You can't fund the government, especially all the wars and infrastructure projects, off the incomes of the 90% when those incomes represent 10% or less of national wealth. That is unless you are going to just charge everyone $50k per year and make anyone that makes less money than that endentured servants. Make it like merry old feudal England.
