I don't think they are necessarily working to oust him, but might be trying to build a bipartisan effort to try and chill out the people that are going to seriously freak when Mueller and the free press take down Donald.

NY Times' David Leonhardt, a liberal, competent opinion writer, suggests that "G.O.P. support for Trump is starting to crack."  Congressional Republicans aren't supporting Trump as strongly as would be typical early in a first term.  Still, it's likely that Obamacare will be dismantled, even if tax reforms don't happen.
