Trump also said that he was very unhappy with Sessions because he recused himself from the Russia investigation. He said that had he known that Sessions would be forced to recuse himself, he would have appointed someone else. Wow. So much for Sessions, I hope he didn't get too comfortable there.

Trump can only walk down the AG command chain, firing each until he finds one with enough lack of patriotism to try and squash this investigation, launching America into a constitutional crisis.

Looks like Trump will be shutting down Muller! Muller is way outside of his allowable realm of investigation. If he isn't shut down then something is way wrong! The Justice Department's May 17 order to Mueller instructs him to investigate "any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign" as well as "any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation," suggesting a relatively broad mandate. Not the kind of mandate Trump and Putin just had. |
