Yeah... not so much...
The Con man keeps getting you... > The Indiana plant is laying off 600 workers starting next month, even though Trump offered United Technologies, the plant's operator, $7 million in incentives to "employ at least 1,069 people at the facility for 10 years, rather than moving it abroad in search of cheaper labor." > Just 730 of those 1,069 positions are the manufacturing jobs Trump said he'd protect. The rest are engineering and technical jobs that weren't leaving. So Carrier will keep 730 manufacturing employees, but lay off 600 others and send their jobs to Mexico all the same. "The jobs are still leaving," Robert James, president of United Steelworkers Local 1999, told CNBC. "Nothing has stopped." That $16 million? It's going towards automating the plant, so machines can do the jobs manufacturing workers would do. After all, automation is the other real threat to American industrial labor. That's right: the company took the money Trump demanded in the deal to keep unemployment up at the plant and used it to invest in technology that will allow it to employ fewer workers. And things are only likely to get worse: United Technology took in $57 billion in revenue last year, so the $7 million incentives aren't likely to change their calculus. ------------------------- GOP: Gaslight Obstruct Project |

So they are keeping 730 instead of the 1069 he promised?
And this is worse than the 0 they would have kept otherwise? |

So they are keeping 730 instead of the 1069 he promised? And this is worse than the 0 they would have kept otherwise? Did you miss the $7 million in incentives? Look, I know you can read, but can you comprehend, too? Read the whole article. The above are just snippets... If you need someone to hold your hand through life, you must be one of those snowflake millennials I keep hearing about... ------------------------- GOP: Gaslight Obstruct Project |

$7 million in incentives is worth 1069 jobs but not 730?

There should be zero in incentives.
The last time I checked, Republicans wanted government to stay out of business, now all of a sudden you approve of government subsidies and intrusion, just because it's tRump? ------------------------- I was right. |

Trump should never have established incentives for one because he would have to do it for all. He didn't do it to keep carrier here, he did it to prove he was going punish companies that left and reward those that stay. Both are wrong. Both are no place for our government and to make political capital out of this exception is bigly dumb.

Those were state incentives. I certainly am against federal incentives for this sort of thing. I am against my state doing that as well. Other states can do as they wish. ------------------------- I :heart; Q |

And what about your commander in chief micro managing an ac company that will eventually automate their way into the next decade like the rest of the world. Good use of time and Twitter bully pulpit?

It's government interference in the marketplace and the deal was created at the federal level. Do all companies get the same deal? ------------------------- I was right. |
