The policies you support with the current state and national so called "conservative republicans" aim to destroy the jobs of commercial fishermen, fish and dive charter operators. Hunters and ecotour operators, throughout our state. Real estate sales along the waterfronts and rivers have taken huge impacts.
Our recreational fishing and diving and boating industries have and will suffer with these policies.

Oh yeah: and how about just a vibrant and healthy ecosystem to take our current kids and generations to come out to enjoy the outdoors, if for no other reason? To just go surfing without bluegreen algae slime foam in the the whitewater of every wave llike last summer (i was sick for weeks)

So: why are you even on a waterperson, outdoors lover forum like these if all the political crap you espouse just works towards the utter destruction of what we all love?

All programs, the EPA included, will be trimmed to the bone to pay for tax cuts to the wealthy.

How they get the working stiffs and trailer park crowd to vote for them is miraculous (enter Faux, Limpballs, Insannity......)

70% of us voted in strong environmental law and the state just uses the money to pay bills, then takes the money earmarked for those bills and moves it to something else, like free hand-outs for businesses that move to Florida. Do they make the businesses pay the money back if they leave? Of course not.

The environment loses, tax payers lose, yet many of you keep voting them back into office.

The state of Florida passed a law that allows companies and corporations to police themselves when it comes to pollution and the environment.

Sorry dickweed, you are wrong again.

No environmental laws have changed..and no law enforcement pertaining to them has changed either (been removed).

So policing themselves would only ADD to the situation not take away from it!

Sorry crap for brains, you are wrong again!

Enforcement and monitoring budgets are to get slashed in red states and at the EPA level.

I still remember Rick Scott's first executive action to block septic tank inspection and upgrades.

I talk to neighbors about the lagoon. The Trump supporters say that the lagoon is sick because Henry Flagler imported manatees and they ate all the grass. They tell me that the nutrient thing is just liberal nonsense by socialists that are trying to control people's lives. Then they blame causeways and rocket farts after the imported manatees. Then they go dump another 100lbs of nitrogen on 1000 sqare feet of St. Auggie.

Companies policing themselves with regard to compliance with environmental laws effectively means that compliance is voluntary.

There is nothing to stop them from falsifying compliance reports if there is no third party oversight.

We all know how well voluntary compliance with laws works, especially when the short term economic incentive says to dump the negative externalities on the commons. It is like having voluntary catch limits on a fish that is worth $100/lb.

Where did the state negate its ability or that it would itself monitor and inspect for compliance?

Didn't happen.

And yes, you are wrong again. Environmental law has even been changed at the federal level.

Ah, yes.
First off, Sardine Slayuh: the algae bloom was under rick scott. Who refused a) to spend the Amendment 1 money (you know, passed by 78% of the florida electorate gilligan?) on dealing with the algae issues. He used it as his personal slush fund. Scott=Chumpf.
As to the other little kook, Piginshit Muzzle, with the personal messages and dumb posts :

Sooooo...your claiming Obama could not have had his EPA take care of it?

Why exactly didn't Obama's EPA step in and fix that crap?

The EPA HAD the authority!

It is at state level doofus. Local enforcement is no more the job of the EPA than residential burglary is of the FBI.

Why are you so ready to disband something you know nothing about?

Just for information,

The EPA has responsibility and authority to enforce environmental laws.

If a State can demonstrate that its laws are equivalent to,

or more protective than Federal requirement,

the State can be granted Primacy.

Florida, through FDEP, has been granted Primacy in many program areas including

drinking water, waste water and protection of surface and ground water.

Should the State fail in its responsibility, the EPA steps back in.

Both sides have their nuts. Some of the bigger nuts on the left, for instance, believe in some sort of grand Russian-Trump conspiracy. No accounting for some people.

Now, regarding the original question, obviously we are not for destroying the environment and that's not going to happen. The prog propaganists put out that kind of stuff to scare their constituencies into donating more money to dems and their prog organizations. Unfortunately, there are plenty of weak-minded progs who fall for this. So, they keep doing it. Mind you, we normal Americans do enjoy seeing this lunatic class go bat shit nuts over this propaganda.
