"President Donald Trump asked two of the government's top intelligence chiefs to publicly deny evidence of cooperation between his campaign and Russia during the 2016 election, multiple current and former US officials confirmed to CNN Monday.

Trump spoke to Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and National Security Agency Director Adm. Michael Rogers after then-FBI Director James Comey revealed in March that the bureau had launched a probe into alleged collusion.

Both Coats and Rogers were uncomfortable with the nature of the President's request and refused to comply, the sources with knowledge of the situation told CNN."

So, One of the nations top law enforcers calls a press conference and says:

We investigated, found numerous evidences of crimes committed, BUT since the person committing the crimes didn't have any bad intentions we are going to give them a pass...

AND you are all good with that scenario... He is a hero....

The the same guy calls another press conference and says we are reopening the investigation into those crimes we told you about a couple months ago...

AND you all have a shit fit... he is a criminal and should be killed...

Trump fires him as unfit for office and you have another shit fit... yes he should be fired but the timing looks bad...

Now Trump asks the National intelligence agencies to tell everyone and show everyone the truth... that there is no criminal evidence of cooperation between his campaign and Russia....   And you guys once again are going crazy...

This is not proof of guilt... This is proof of innocence... Trump is asking the top intelligence officials to make public what they know about the Russian/ Trump cooperation...

they may be uncomfortable with doing so because Trump fired the last guy who bypassed the process and spoke to the press but in an attempt to restore public confidence in the process why not make a statement?

If you have evidence of collusion say so... if you don't have evidence of collusion say that...

This is proof of innocence? Who buys that?

You're demanding the results of the investigation that's still in progress. It may be a year before all the rocks have been picked up, and the insects crawling underneath documented.

Collusion is not required for obstruction of justice, so I wouldn't hang your hat there.

Obstruction of justice is required, however. This ain't that or anything remotely close to it. You guys seem to be getting desperate. When even your made up stories don't do the trick, you know you are grasping at straws.

Nixon was impeached for less. You'll start to see this info popping up soon: WH recently violated a court order, which is contempt of court. Contempt of Court is an impeachable offense.

I sort of agree that none of what we know so far of Donald's little attempts to cajole people into backing off might by themselves reach the bar of actual "legal" obstruction of justice. Taken all together though they do paint a compelling picture of somebody trying to cover up something. But there is certainly more to come, and remember that impeachment is not a legal process, it is entirely political.

What if the goal isn't really to impeach and remove trump at all?

It could be we just want to keep kicking him in the balls every time more evidence is found of his dumbfuckery?

I can't imagine a more favorable situation heading into midterms and beyond than a squirming castrated trump and half the GOP trying to defend him.

Cut that Medicaid too, that's going to make for joy in trumpville (if they are smart enough to realize they're on it in the first place).

No one is desperate. The real estate developer in charge will hang his own dang self. It's a win win for the American public.

Tpap, you must not have ever practiced federal law before. That's why all of the former U.S. Attorneys are weighing in with how the threshold has been met and surpassed.
