Today is Trump's 98th day in office. His campaign pledged he would sign 10 bills in his first 100 days. He's signed none of them. %

On that note, is anyone really shocked that he is a complete failure so far?
Literally the only thing he has done extremely good was appointing Mattis as SecDef |

Poor progs. They can't catch a break. After losing over a 1000 elective offices during the failed reign of the PiC and having their "most qualified ever" presidential candidate bitch slapped in the election, now they are disappointed with Trump. Very sad. ------------------------- I :heart; Q |

Tspank again confusing the haves (educated dems) with the have nots (opioid addicted and out of work uneducated racists who supported Trump). Haves are going to do well economically under the wealthcare administration (at least initially). For the majority of Trump supporters there is no way out of the hateful place they are now.

You are stupid for posting that and should feel bad about yourself. Generalizations are wrong when Conservatives do it and are just as wrong when Liberals do it. |

Pablo's trolling was taken on a decidedly desperate tone. He's becoming the "Baghdad Bob" of NSR trolls.

I must disagree with that characterization. I'd say that I am the Cassandra of NSR trolls. I am doing a lot of "I told you so's" here. ------------------------- I :heart; Q |

On that note, is anyone really shocked that he is a complete failure so far? Literally the only thing he has done extremely good was appointing Mattis as SecDef I don't know much about Mattis, and am not so sure a General as Sec Def is such a great idea. Civilian control of the military has served us well in the past I think picking a thinking man, H.R. McMaster to replace the disgraced islamophobe and Russian agent Flynn was his best move so far. ------------------------- "The truth is incontrovertible. malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is." -Sir Winston Churchill |

I don't know much about Mattis, and am not so sure a General as Sec Def is such a great idea. Civilian control of the military has served us well in the past I am not sure why you keep saying this. 1. Mattis IS a civilian 2. Most SecDefs in recent history ..say the last 75 years have been prior military somewhere around a 3:1 ratio. So, umm Explain? Edit: He also was supported by BOTH (R) and (D) in the Senate, 98-1 for confirmation |

The only thing I can think of that you may be talking about is that he had to get approval because he was within the 7 year limit after service (3 years). However, even that still doesn't explain your comments lol

Sure, most Sec Defs have served, most older men in America did, unlike the current generations.
But how many recent ones were recently discharged career Generals? (I also didn't realize he had been already out 3 years) There was a reason why they passed a civilian control of the military rule in 1947 (it was 10 years then), and has only been overridden once before, back in 51. I don't see a real problem here though, I don't have any real issue with Mattis other than the fact that the job of the Sec Def is sometimes to say "NO" to generals who will always want more. I hope Mattis can do that too. ------------------------- "The truth is incontrovertible. malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is." -Sir Winston Churchill |

19 of the last 26 SecDefs were prior military. Of those 19, 18 were officers and 1 was enlisted.
You don't really think some prior butter bar Lt. that is used to taking orders from senior officers, who would probably shit their pants in front of a general, and has no command experience outside or above company level is more qualified to tell generals no than a man who was in charge of US Central Command, used to issuing orders to other generals, and led highly successful campaigns? Your logic makes no sense to me. |

What Mattis will do is tell you the truth or give you his highly regarded opinion, both based on actual experience as well as intensive study, whether you want to hear it or not.
