I am not sure it was open market killing us in 2008 as much as it was criminal lending practices and corrupt banks. A lot of people should have went to jail and instead, they got a free pass for the most part.

I mean you had banks purposefully pushing bad loans on people. Then repackaging failing/failed loans to make them appear as though they were something they were not. Home buyers, flippers, speculators and investors alike all got screwed by the banks.

You are right, I should have said lack of regulation enforcement and trump is taking us down the exact same road again.
