The Department of Housing and Urban Development released their 2017 income limits last Friday, which determine eligibility for various kinds of government housing programs, from Section 8 housing choice vouchers to public housing for the poor, elderly, and people with disabilities

In San Francisco, a family of four with an income as high as $105,000 per year would qualify for Section 8 subsidized housing vouchers. In New York, Los Angeles, Boston, and Washington, DC, a family of four making more than $70,000 could qualify.

A family of 4 earning $49,000 qualifies as low-income in the Palm Bay-Melbourne-Titusville, FL area.

$46,500 in Orlano

The middle class is dead.

Capitalism is based on the ridiculous notion that you can enjoy limitless growth in a closed, finite system.

In biology, such behavior of cells is called "cancer".

Looks like property values align fairly well with political leanings, county by county.

You aren't gonna make squat investing in a red county, it seems.

What do they consider income? Your salary, or what you actualy take home in your check after taxes, medical insurance, and any other government mandated extorsion?

It makes sense. It's also why full time Wal-Mart employees are one of the largest groups of welfare users.

With any luck, republicans will finally be able to do away with the minimum wage.

I was right.
