Wouldn't it suck to get all excited about this and then find out your job was one of the half that WASN'T saved, even after all the government concessions?

Its called a stock buy back its not a shady practice. Its meant to reward investors who believe in the company. Its all on the up and up [SEC filings]. You should look into this kind of thing, it will help you avoid poverty in retirement.

The state give the companies the break the schools and infrastructure suffers from lack of funds so they raise taxes and fees on the citizens. Great work.

Same thing would be true if you give corporations subsidies, like we're doing for solar power, right?

If I was one of the 1,000 whose job was saved I would be thankful without regard to the details of the deal.

Question: How can people cheer the Carrier deal yet boo president Obama when he saved saved millions of auto industry jobs?

True. Carrier just increased their bottom line due to a government handout.

The auto industry has paid back their freebee, will Carrier do the same?

I am surprised that all those people that hated the detroit bailout can trumpet this little deal out of the other side of their mouths.

So, now you know why Pence had not resigned yet from his Governor job.

The $7 million incentive is not coming from the Feds, it is from the State through the state's Indiana Economic Development Corporation.

And who can authorize the money?
Only the Governor can.

So, is was imperative that Pence stay as Governor until at least this deal was executed.

"Greg Hayes, UTC chief executive officer, criticized Trump, without mentioning his name, at a Nov. 1 appearance at the Council on Foreign Relations.

"Developing an isolationist approach will not - I repeat not - create growth or jobs nor will it make any country great," he said. "The forces of globalization are real and they are inescapable."

But he finally had to give in because of possible retaliation in some form or other from the Clown King jeopardizing the highly lucrative $6 billion annually UTC receives in U.S. military and other contracts.

The 7 million is bullshit. But if it's true that there was a threat toward government contracts of the parent company, that's a straight up pinko socialist move and I like it.

Trump really is a national socialist. I prefer the democratic flavor, but we'll take the jobs. It just can't be sustained like this.

And he's still making big promises even tonight.

So 1300 jobs are going to Mexico and we are giving them a $7 mil tax break and Trump calls this winning?

There are some things to like about this deal.

I like the idea of denying US government contracts to corporations who move jobs overseas. Bernie does too. The R's no likey.
Had Obama suggested such a thing they would have had a conniption over on Faux News. The orange DIC does it and they swoon.

But no matter, what's good is good, hypocrisy notwithstanding.

Nothing to see here folks, move along, the Carrier deal is business as usual, it's just that the Tangerine Dream is making a publicity stunt out of it and his supporters are acting like he's doing something novel.

Look no further than right here in town for the same shenanigans. MC Assembly of Palm Bay did the exact same thing with Brevard and your tax dollars. Threatened Mexico move if they didn't get some $$ and lo and behold they got their tax breaks.
