"Climate change's impacts on extreme weather and society are becoming increasingly clear and undeniable. While we are making progress in solving the problem, we're still moving too slowly, and one of the two political parties governing the world's strongest superpower continues to deny the science. This led astrophysicist Katie Mack to make the following suggestion, related to a common refrain from Donald Trump and Republican Party leaders:

Maybe governments will actually listen if we stop saying "extreme weather" & "climate change" & just say the atmosphere is being radicalized"

SkepticalScience

Why can't they say the words?

"Radical Atmosphere"

I always wonder this. If you hold your breath and CO2 builds up in your blood stream, you panic and the reaction is to breath at all costs. As the CO2 in the atmosphere increases will we start to feel the panic, stress? Then does that translate into panic/stress like behaviors of people all over the world? Wonder what levels cause that? Will we all be panic stricken zombies, or live in indoor environments that control the amount of O2 and CO2, and only venture outside to surf? Basis for the next future Sci-Fi!

Interesting.
"A process like this would allow you to consume extra electricity when it's available to make and store as ethanol,"

That sentence makes me wonder if it's a net energy gainer or loser....

Perhaps if Congress thinks it's being radicalized we can include funding for climate change in Homeland Security?

Depends on how efficient it is. I'm pretty sure electrolysis of water is super lossy. Consuming the H2 and O2 back is not.

Batteries are relatively efficient, but have other issues.

The gain would be as against some other form of storage. All of which have losses.

We'd be long dead before CO2 could rise to a level affecting human respiration, but we may see the planet panic and shake us off like fleas from a dog's back.

Capitalism is based on the ridiculous notion that you can enjoy limitless growth in a closed, finite system.

In biology, such behavior of cells is called "cancer".

Planet Panic is the ninth studio album by the Danish hard rock band Pretty Maids. It was released in 2002 by Scanbox Entertainment in Scandinavia and Massacre Records in Germany. According to the band's guitarist, Ken Hammer, they tried a more "electronic" sound for the album.
