Trumps pivot is about the same as Mccains pandering to the evangelicals in 2000. It will be about as successful. Let's play a Trump game called what I meant, not what I said. You take a definitive statement, you say it's strong because it's from s straight talker who is not pc and not a politician. Then you say that straight talk is what this country is missing, it's what we need. Then the haters point out that the straight is easy because soundbites are the toys that jitney messiahs give their hungry base. Trump responds with a mock enjoyment at how he annoys his haters and disregards the critique. The critique doesn't go away and the sound bite does. Trump cannot be pressed about details because he accuses anyone who questions him of liberals bias. His technique is one of distraction and it's based upon the faulty premise that anyone critique from any unsympathetic source cannot be valid or true. He excludes certain reporters and newspapers to squelch them and send a bullet across the bow of others to remind them that the trump show is making them rich at his pleasure. When the distraction withers and the question remains, he decided that he needs to abandon it. "I was being sarcastic."
At that moment, he has screwed all of his apologists. They have been defending what he said. Now they have to pretend that he always meant something different. It is at this point that they create s false argument and pretend that everyone has always been arguing about what he meant. He didn't mean actually build a 30 billion dollar wall, he meant secure our talking point, I mean secure our boarders. He didn't mean Obama founded Isis, he meant indirectly he created a power vacuum that allowed to metastasize. He didn't mean all Muslims, he meant radical Islamists. He says it. They take it as gospel and repeat it as religion. He gets a history lesson and faces a backlash and he backpedals. Then, his friends in the same media that created him tell us what he meant, which if it were true, would sound republican and red state worthy. It's a giant effort to believe that the cinnamon hitler really is better than the former secretary of defense and he really is Christian like them. The irony is that he is Christian like them.... In name only. ------------------------- "One of the reasons why propaganda tries to get you to hate government is because it's the one existing institution in which people can participate to some extent and constrain tyrannical unaccountable power." Like I said, if it's real, it's commendable. I doubt it's real But if you all commend the 180, after applauding the hate, then it's you that are the frauds. Nailed it! ------------------------- QOP = Terrorists FK = Gay |

His plan to build a wall was a joke anyway. And how could he possibly force Mexico to pay for it? That would take an act of Congress from both countries. Plus, the wall is a dumb idea. As many problems as this nation has, illegal immigration is far down the list of priorities. We have an aging population and we need to bring in young people to fill the workforce. Plus, big agriculture (vastly republican) don't want their labor pool to dry up. Georgia had one of the most hardline policies against undocumented workers in the nation a couple years back and it absolutely backfired. All the farmers around the state went straight to Gov Nathan Deal to plead for a reversal. The wall is a distraction issue and nothing more. ------------------------- See you all next summer. Have a great rest of 2016, and don't vote for Trump. |
