from John Savercool UBS Financial Services Issues "Taxing Financial Products. Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR), the lead Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee, is proposing a new tax regime for derivatives. Under his proposal, a single set of rules for derivatives would be established through the application of ordinary income tax rates to an annual "mark to market" recognition of gains. The proposal is a work in progress, and its introduction is designed to provoke input from impacted parties. While the bill won't advance this year, Senator Wyden is in a strong position to push this issue as part of broader tax reform legislation in the coming years, especially if he becomes chairman of the committee in a possible Democratic takeover in the fall." Hey 3rd, This is a follow up for issues you raised in another thread....... ------------------------- So if you are a surfer I wish you the prosperity that allows you more time to pursue the salt water dream, and the true happiness that comes from warm water, clean waves and the companionship of your fellow surfers. That's how Bernie plans to pay for college for our children. Good move in my opinion.
And it ought to get the piggies squealing. ------------------------- Capitalism is based on the ridiculous notion that you can enjoy limitless growth in a closed, finite system. In biology, such behavior of cells is called "cancer". |

Taxes pay bills. That's lost on trickle downers. You GOP types think wealth creators should keep every dime, pay for nothing and claim you are indirectly providing for everything by being prosperous.

No, we think the federal gov't should be funded to the extent necessary for it to fulfill its core constitutional duties and, otherwise, it should stay off of our backs. Progs believe that the gov't is always right, is free from corruption and always has our best interest at heart (unless it is being run by a Republican, in which case it is always wrong, rife with corruption and is out to screw people). I'd say my take is the more valid one. ------------------------- I :heart; Q |

-pay for nothing and claim you are indirectly providing for everything by being prosperous.
Perfect description and 100% accurate, yet they still fight tooth and nail for trickle down. ------------------------- I was right. |
