What is your ideal scenerio of "Socialism?"

How much of ever dollar you earn are you willing to give to the government to obtain it?

I can answer for the progs. They are more than happy to give 100% of other people's money. But zero of theirs. Some things don't change.

Where you at government cheerleaders? Let me feel the Bern of you socialistic viewpoints.

What is your ideal vision, and how much from your paycheck are you willing to give up to achieve it.

Your silence speaks volumes.....

Reminds of a qoute "Socialism works untill you run out of other people's money"

Some of us are working.....

But you're looking at it the wrong way. We democratic socialists believe the people are the government (as in "of the people for the people). We work together to make sure there's a level playing field, that everyone has access to education to the limit of their ability and desire, and if you get sick you can see a doctor and not go bankrupt. Beyond that good luck, let your personal effort take you as far as you can go and enjoy the fruits of your labor; but you're not allowed to screw anyone over.

Progressive taxation, national healthcare, strong public education systems; that's what we're about. But we also need to weed out freeloaders and malcontents, so naturally this philosophy is threatening to speculators, bankers, and attorneys.

He's the only candidate that speaks about the banks the way that you did in the other thread.

Socialist cheerleaders are always on the receiving end, with nothing to lose and everything to gain, or they are the tyranical Castros and Kim Jongs of the world.  Either way its just a different form of greed.  They're really no different than rich conservatives.  Its just that theyre the ones that lost the rat race and socialism is their only way to get even.

It is so easy for one to fall victim to the propoganda of the tyranical socialist when one lacks the capacity for logical reasoning and happen to be the losing rat.

Social Security and Medicare available.  Education provided to our kids.   I'll pay my fair share of taxes for it.

The more important question might be how much would you save if you didn't need to pay a profit driven insurance company for your health care coverage?

There is no other advanced country that has no national healthcare system, and none of them is clamoring for an American style system. It's just a given to enlightened people.

Not a damn thing, unless we were to get substantially worse care. Most Everyone from hospital janitors up to large pharmaceutical companies will still make their profits. Health insurance companies have a profit margin of around 3%. That money and more will be spent on the additional federal bureacracy that will spring up.

Oh yeah, insurance companies are hurting. I think United healthcare has a GoFundMe set up, maybe we can have a benefit concert.

The facts are that we pay more and get less than any "western" country.

No one wants the American system except those who are profiting from it.

You are wrong about that. Most people living in single payer countries who can afford private coverage, get it. About 10% of brits get private insurance. Guess which part of the income scale they come from. So, anyway, those who can afford it, very much want the American system. Indeed, it is considered a valuable perk when employers offer it.

Given the amount of corruption in the 2 party system, almost anything else is worth a shot.

So sweet that the Conservative Anarchists are replying to a thread entitled "Socialist Cheerleaders".

That is the reality. Conservatives love "socialism", just as long they're a beneficiary. See: farmers, sugar, oil 'n gas, defense contractors, big banks, and so on...

That crap isn't socialism. Plus, you are wrong. Most of us are against all subsidies. Progs are the one's wanting subsidies to support their hare-brained ideas that can't make it in the market place.

Riiiight, that's why they were all just limbo-ing lower on the Iowa corn dong :/

"Hare-brained idea": let's tax Wall Street on the exchange of money. I go to the 7/11 and I get taxed on a transaction, why not them?
