Republicans fare poorly in presidential election years.

Republicans have 24 seats up for grabs in 2016.

This could be a fatal election for the republican party.

16 candidates and GOP front runner has given more money to clintons than any book deal they have made. Oh yes, the democrats are on the run.

You know things are bad when Joe Biden is seen as a savior. More like abysmal.

It has been said that GW did more for the liberal cause than liberals ever could have done on thier own.  It can now also be said that Obama did more to grow support for the conservative case than they ever could have done for themselves.  So once again the pendulum swings.  And it will always swing too.

It is worth noting that a Demcrat has never won the White House following previous Democrat.  The house and senate are also cyclic and are not due to reverse until 2018 at least.

The senate might flip in 2016, just given the number of R seats up.

The pendulum does swing, but the center always moves toward progress (left).

I don't think too many people see Biden as a savior. If he runs, it will just be a tactical move by the Democratic party Establishment/Hillary machine. It will allow some Dems to express dissatisfaction with Clinton's early coronation, without pumping up Bernie Sanders' numbers.

"A new Pew poll finds that favorability among Americans for Republicans is at 32 percent - which is 9 percentage points less than in January - while 60 percent of the survey-takers said they viewed the GOP unfavorably now. Perceptions of Democrats, meanwhile, have remained split."

Yep, it's the Democrats that are hurting!

I don't know. Biden getting in smacks of desperation. Dems have an empty bench.  It is ironic that the prog pundits are calling the GOP candidates a clown car. That description fits the dems perfectly - a gaffe machine, a felon, the destroyer of Baltimore, and a socialist. Webb is a serious type, but he has no chance because of it.

Notice the sudden drop above, seems to coincide with the beginning of the Republican presidential clown parade

I would have to read the details. But I would guess that the downturn has to do with Republicans' frustration with the House and Senate Republicans, the same frustration that is fueling Trump.

The House and Senate republicans haven't done shit in years, why are you people just beginning to notice?

I think it is more to do with the extreme right positions that the Presidential candidates must take for the early primaries, and the Trump circus spectacle, both pointing out how far from the mainstream the Republic party is lurching.

As they energize the fanatic base, they turn off the rest.

I can't argue with that. The USA is steadily falling down the Human Freedom Index about 3 places a year since Obama took office, indicating that movement to the left. We now fall behind all the nations our founding fathers left in search of Freedom.  At the very bottom of the list is Iran, which Obama seems to be quite a fan of.  Is this the progress you speak of?  Do you have any idea where you're going in the name of progress?

Eventually most foolish young liberals grow up, and very soon the center will likely begin the opposite progression.  This too is cyclic and predicatable.

When you stand so far to the left, how can you even see the center?  I'll meet you there if you can find it.

That is correct. Why don't you mention why they haven't? You only need two words.

No. Harry Reid.

The GOP could not do anything because of this man. As always, I will read any evidence to the contrary. So post it up.

I noticed you failed to mention that republicans set the filibuster record when they were the minority.

They currently hold both halls of Congress and have done so for a year and a half, can you please specify what they have accomplished?

P.S. There is no Harry Reid in the way now.

Post. Post. Script. Obama has only vetoed two pieces of legislation since they took the majority.
