They are, and the Swedes are prog people. Shame they didn't realize that had to conservoproof their cars.

The article says this happened in the Dominican Republic, which means likely the car passed thru the US on its way there.
Does anyone know if this thing is allowed for sale in the US market? I have serious doubts it would be allowed on American roads 1) without a licensed driver at the wheel, in the driver's seat 2) without serious certification of the entire control system 3) without the "pedestrian avoidance" system being a mandatory inclusion Anyway, the video does show what happens to people who are stupid enough to stand in front of a moving car. |

On a slightly different note, parking assist / automatic parking has been around for about 10 years now. In addition to Volvo, Audi-BMW-Mercedes, Chrysler, Ford Lincoln, Jeep and Toyota all offer it in one form or another.
