Yep, and he hates it so much he is promising to abolish it. I think it is a good thing that politicians experience what we experience. Good for Ted. Not many politicians would make such a sacrifice to see how the rest of us live.

Affordable insurance of the American public.

No, this battle isn't over Obama nationalizing oil companies.

It's not over forcing people into military service.

It doesn't involve the burning of books or the suppression of free speech.

It isn't about the government forcing you into a religion.

Nope, these many years of battle are over affordable insurance for the people of the United States.

Isn't it about time for the Right to address a real problem or two?

Nuts? Not all, but Ted....yes.

Stupid? No. Ted is a smart, well educated man. Louie Gohmert....yes.

Hypocritical? Not all, but Ted.....yes, for enrolling in the ACA exchange.

Evil? Not all, just Dick Cheney.

I'm sure Ted's family is saving $2500 per year, just like the rest of America.

We need affordable medical care, not affordable medical insurance.

Unfortunately, the ACA provided neither.

Agreed!

(although I have heard some good things and some bad things about ACA from first hand users, so maybe this is a good baby step to reducing the cost or even the need for medical insurance.)

I know! This obamacare has been a living hell for me and mine! As soon as it was passed we, um, well, we. . .uh, nothing happened. I am pleased with the same company I've been with for years and years. Exactly what happened to you?

That's right; there is no such thing as medical insurance unless you have a high deductible setup.  But then you have to navigate "the market".  There is no free market unless you are an underwriter; hozzies will gouge you until you bleed (then you have to go back, haha).

ACA was the Republican plan for healthcare. Obama sold out the left and caved to them thinking they would at least vote for their own freaking plan.

The fight against ACA has more to do with power and political grandstanding.

I say model off the NHS in the UK. All the Brits I work with are happy.

Exactly! It is both the same plan the Repub's put forth as a counter to "Hillary Care" and later pushed by Willard as Romneycare. Obama did cave a bit both to the right and Big Insurance.

Indeed .... it is not what is in the best interest of the pubic, it is opposing everything Obama that drives them.

As is every country on the planet with National Health Care.

In fairness, my Canadian friends are also happy with nationalized healthcare........for the common ailments like diabetes, colds, infections, high blood pressure and the like.

Where the system struggles is major medical issues, specifically surgeries. If you are not in dire straits, you are put on a waiting list and may wait weeks or months to make it to the top of the list only to be bumped down by other new cases that are more critical.

Once the surgery is done, you are golden with followup care.

Not sure why this is, maybe doctor shortages.

As far as healthcare? Nothing. Same as always too.

What about the 90% of our population who don't have who don't have 100,000 to pay for a knee replacement or back surgery?

Could this be the reason that the majority of bankruptcies in the US stem from medical issues?
