Becasue they embraced capitalism.  And I think they are now the worlds largest economy becasue of it. Are you inferring that if the US ebrances communism our economy will grow?

http://www.businessinsider.com/china-overtakes-us-as-worlds-largest-economy-2014-10

I would insist that it is not the type of government a country has that sets the pace of its economy, but it is its leadship.

Yes, they embrace Capitalism, but they also pay for everything when it comes to their people.

Isn't that the direct ticket to doom and gloom?

I would insist that it is not the type of government a country has that sets the pace of its economy, but it is its leadship.

Bush was all for cutting taxes, increasing military spending and working with the "trickle down" theory.

Obama has handled things like a moderate Democrat.

Do you still agree with your statement above?

Yes I do.  I did not imply either leadership or economic strategy was good, and certainly not that either were or are moderate.  You have provided no new information to sawy my opinion other than offer me your opinion, which you should already know I disagree with.

I have answered two of your questions. Now answer mine.  Are you a communist?  And if so what is your opinion of capitalism, its workings and why its working so well for China and not Obama?

Perhaps you'd like to address this while you're at it -

http://dailycaller.com/2015/01/26/the-audacity-of-what-obama-pushing-taxes-he-fought-against-in-senate-and-in-his-book/

Its just one of many reasons I dislike Obama's leadership, and it could be the most hypocritical and aducious reason yet.  Looks like the start of a war against the middle class to me.

You just don't get it.

Look at the Chinese culture and look at our culture.

The Chinese focus on a tight knit family unit. Look at how they view disappointing or embarrassing your family. They have an unstoppable work ethic. Look at their commitment to education, and not just a commitment to spending money on education but a commitment to excellence/performance. Compare that with what you see in the United States and you will find your answer.

Good point Sniper.  It is their culture to honor their family with hard work and success.  Our culture would do well to emulate them.  Problem is the US liberal idealoloy currently at the helm in this country would self destruct and implode if it promoted and rewarded those charateristics.  Ironically China is now beating us at what was once our game, while we run their old game plan.

We have been told ad-nauseam that socialism is going to destroy the United States, that things like insurance for the low income section of our society is going to send us over the edge, yet China, a solidly communist country, manages to pull it off and even surpass the US economy.

Are a few socialist leaning policies going to kill the US?

My feelings on communism? It doesn't work, but it's pretty obvious that a combination of capitalism and socialism isn't the end of the world.

As to the claim that they are better workers? That's horseshit, most Americans don't even bother to use their vacation time and our average work week is 45 hours. Not to mention the fact that we are unsurpassed when it comes to creativity and ingenuity.

If education in China is so important, why is their literacy rates several points lower than ours?

..and Zeus, please don't waste my time with stories from the Daily Caller.

...and you dodged my question - Bush failed and Obama is getting better every day - do you disagree with your own statement?

Cole, I see that as the single biggest problem with progs today.  They don't want to hear or read bad news.  And by bad news I mean that which is counter to their beliefs.  Had you read the story, you'd know it was about Obama's proposal to tax 529 college savings plans, which have been the middle class's best way to save tax free for higher education.  A plan Obama him self poured money into and previously supported.  The plan was to tax those that saved for college to pay for those that didn't.  Moderate Democrat my ass.  It took Nacy Pelosi, who had to side with house Republicans on the subject, to get the stooge to back down.  Perhaps you did read it and couldn't muster a better response than to find fault with the source.  Seen that liberal tactic before.

And no I do not not disagree with my statement, I already said that.  I did not compare Bush to Obama in any way. I don't know why you keep bringing that up, but as long as you are, I suggest you do some research and go find the root of the sub prime lending financial crisis you blame on Bush.  Perhaps you could point to a 'sustainable' economic policy of Obama's too.  Note the ket word there.  Deficit spending on stimulus is non-sustainable.

As for China's literacy rate; do you not realize they only recently departed from hardline maoist communisim where education was uspressed?  A large portion of China is still very rual too.  Currently President Xi Jinping's is even pulling back on education due to fears his country's education system is advancing too rapidly and spawning too many free thinkers.  Yeah they have a liberal probelm too.  But still their growth rate of college grads is exponetial, while the US's is only slightly inclined.

You really should read more broadly and talk less.

But Obama has nothing to do with the recovery of the United States economy?

The sub-prime meltdown was from lack of regulation, beginning with the repeal of Glass - Steagall, followed by poor policy from the Bush administration. If the current economy was as bad as that during the final Bush year, who would you blame?

China success story? Slavery, environmental destruction, corruption, theft of intellectual property on a colossal scale.

Communists in name only. What they have done more closely resembles end stage capitalism. Not to worry righties, we'll get there soon enough.

This kind of puts it all in perspective doesn't it?

Communist Democrats

Tell me again about their environmental destruction, corruption and theft when you or your children go to work for them.  What difference will all that make then?

I agree though, we'll likely get where you want to go soon enough.  Forgive me if I get off your train before it arrives.

It doesn't sound ridiculous...in fact it sounds about spot on.

You should actually read it Coleslaw....instead of insinuating (lying) that you did.

^^^^Sorry Tpap...as usual your beliefs don't match the facts. Are to trying to say that the economy is WORSE off now than it was at the beginning of the Obama Presidency? Dude...everybody knows that's unmitigated bullsh!t. Repugnicans, somehow believe that they can continue to misinform and the majority will believe it. Of course they say; "Look at the vote", never mentioning their gerrymandering and vote suppression tactics that manage to eek them out slim wins. Repugnicans just can't compete on an even playing field and they know it. They're real good at slogans and misinformation and working the system, but have no ideas that benefit the Nation. Just the same old shit that's been PROVEN failures for decades.
