What some people fail to understand is that radical islamics don't think the way we do. They can't be rationalized with and olive branches are seen as signs of weakness. They don't want to be your friend or your buddy. You are an infidel and the only thing they want to do is convert or kill you. The only thing they know and respect is violence.

 

They way to treat radical islamics is to reciprocate violence exponentially. If they bomb a cafe, execute an innocent, lob a missle at you, whatever... you don't respond with words and warnings. You respond by levelling an entire village and killing everyone inside. If they still don't get the message that you aren't to be fucked with, then the next time you respond by erradicating everyone of them that you can find.

 

You deal with them the same way you would deal with rabid animals, and there is really no middle ground.

Physical Torture is proven to be counterproductive to positively influencing the citizens of the country we're in to cooperate with us.

They already do that, not only to our soilders, but civilians, reporters, children. Like somebody mentioned earlier, they don't have the same morals/values as most people in the west (and the majority of Muslims). I have mixed feelings about the tactics now that I've learned more about them. Using them definitely takes away some of our 'moral high ground', but I'm not going to pass judgement on the people on the ground that used them, given the state of the nation after being sucker punched.

If you get caught up in a dirty fight, you either fight dirty or get taken out. It's a conundrum of the situation when people don't play by the same rules.

What you are trying to do is attribute a trait of a portion to the whole, and that simply isn't valid or accurate. Imagine if people tried to use the actions of the KKK, a radical Christian group, to represent Christianity as a whole.
