so aside from going into the city counsel meetings and pouring your heart
out to all of those people, what do you want done?

Do you want people to stop developing?
do you want the city to just stop the progression and tell the people that
'don't belong' or don't fit your criteria to go away?

i just want to know the thought process behind a rant about a place here
in the states being developed or having their eyes on boosting their local
economy by finding alternative motives of generating revenue.

so aside from missing your shrooms, not spray painting a wall, and being
'surf punks'.... mind you i'm using that term loosely...

what do you want to see?
what do you want done?
how do you want the city to handle this depleting 19XX old town look
and making its way towards an updated society?

"Rhetorical Rant"

1. A rant you go on, mainly directed towards yourself, in the presence of others. Not expecting or desiring a reaction from said present company.

2. Ranting to yourself aloud, much like thinking aloud.

I am a native Floridian and have traveled all over the state and visited many others. In my opinion, Florida has been, on a large scale, the victim of development without proper planning or regulation. Florida is a special place with a staggering diversity of habitats and wildlife. Ironically, it is the short-sighted development practices so widely demonstrated that destroy the Florida that most people were captivated by originally.

Thank you, that's what was generally going on here, and I realize not everyone's veiws are inline with mine, nor will everyone be happy with progression or development, or lack there of, whichever side of the fence you fall on. I do realize the pros to a growing local economy and the other perks that come along with 'moving forward'. Yet no matter what I or others say there is always someone else who is adversely right, leaving you and your personal beliefs to be wrong, and who are pleased to knock you down a peg or two.. So it goes

But what I did seemingly fail to address, since I was kind of caught up in the 'Rhetoical Rant', was the main reasoning behind my problem with all of the 'progression'. Which inletbum and others have summed up. This was not supposed to be about me or my fungus-ingesting- 'surfer punk' adolescence (like no one else was ever a teen doing stupid things). It was just a vessel through which I was expressing my disdain for the destruction then construction of 'natural Florida', which is my, as well as probably your, home. It's one of the few things that truly bums me out when I see acres and acres of fallen trees and cleared land only to become a parking lot for this 'progression' you so readily back.

I truly appreciate the positive suggestions and plan to partake in more local causes through the organizations you have mentioned, because it is obsurd to rant on here only to be villified by closed minded individuals, and not take further action towards a cause I belive in.

(and yet again, asking all grumpy-c*nts, to kindly f**k off)

Vote yes on Amendment One, it's a simple thing we can all do to help preserve some of what's left. Natural capital has economic value and we need to emphasize that point to our state and local governments.

Just started everything last weekend working a surf rider fundraiser at the old
covert skate shop turned beer bar that tommy mott owns, space bar

he runs the local surf rider chapter and we were totally sponsoring that event

had a bar tab and was able to purchase some people some beers and share
some good laughs with everyone.

also worked a water ski tournament this past weekend and i'll have plenty of other
big gigs that i'm going to be working here soon

i work, therefore, i earn beer

Sold on 1 and 2.. But 3 is what it's all about folks 'filling judicial vacancies' - WhatWhat.. Just kidding, I have no idea.

But yeah, saving more land through a tax that already exists; and having the state overcome it's 1941 views on weed, and giving people the opportunity to use something that actually helps versus pills.. I'm about it.

3 allows Rick Scott to appoint the judges after he loses his race
For governor. Yeah, we want someone that is voted out still having
the ability to have power over a crucial part of the state.

I grew up in Ponce Inlet in the 1980's. Don't get me started.

Satellite Beach is cool for me, since I can never go home.

Completely wrong. If you people are going to vote on a constitutional amendment you really should take the time to know what you are voting for.
