Yeah, status quo man. go back to any losing strategy since WW II. What, you expect sheeple to understand? Holy wars will not be going away anytime soon. So, just choose your insanity. By the book, or by the bomb or bullet. All pays the same for the draft age person. Pays much better for the old man who is investing the margins.

Mark Levin says this is WWIII, so yeah...that Scottish dude is just wrong. This is the big one!
Agree though, did good under Bush and even better under Obama. War is a money maker....unless you are the one going to the the shit hole to get shot at. ------------------------- If I should ever die, God forbid, let this be my epitaph: THE ONLY PROOF HE NEEDED FOR THE EXISTENCE OF GOD WAS MUSIC - KV |

Bombing crippled Al Queda. Why not ISIS? ------------------------- Replace turf grass with native plants that don't need irrigation and synthetic fertilizers or chemicals that can go into our waterways and ocean |

It did not. What the hell are you talking about? Bombing helped, there's no doubt about it, but paying them off (the Awakening) was much more effective. ------------------------- I was right. |

It's looking more-and-more like a No Win Situation. There may have to be some "boots-on-the-ground" sooner, or later. The tactical air strikes seem to be doing their job, so far. But, all of the highly publicized "F-22", and such, night time strikes are just wrecking empty buildings and not doing too much to attrit the head-count. We have become "too nice" and can no longer fight an effective, winning, war.

This shouldn't be a revelation. If we had the lust to win we would have nuked the Tora Bora valley (figuratively or literally, either way) in December 2001 and been done with it and home by New Year's. But, the real plan was to never leave.

But, the real plan was to never leave. Bush wanted to leave. Bush couldn't get any democraps to agree to nuking! He tried. ------------------------- The REAL truth is....both of the forum idiots are OWNED. -BOTH of them have no clue who their owner is. -They are both card carrying narcissists. ^These are PROVED facts. |

Our foreign policy produced Al-Qaeda. This policy has failed for over 35 years, but we still continue it. Because of our unholy alliance with the Saudi royals, we support their exporting jihad all over the world. Now we're doing it in Iraq and Syria. It's about destabilizing Shia rivals of the rulers of KSA and other Sunni Gulf states, and helping the Saudis keep oil prices stable for us. ISIS can't be "crushed" unless we end our alliance with the Saudis. That means ending our dependence on oil.Bombing won't work, any more than it worked during the Clinton era. But the longer they went, the more they unraveled of al-Qaeda's secrets. The trail of Al-Qaeda and ISSI goes all the way to the doorstep of the Saudi royal family. And such a confrontation between the US and KSA could not be allowed. It would have endangered our whole economic system. It's all connected to our foreign policy of the past decades, going back to Carter (who, after having seen the effects of the Arab oil embargo, knew the importance of smooth relations with the Saudis). ISIS is really the same thing we've been seeing and fighting for decades, but in a different guise.Military action won't resolve these underlying dynamics alone. Were being played. We need to do something fundamentally new.
