UBS "Volatile durables orders +22.6% - largest monthly increase ever recorded Overall durable goods orders were much stronger than expected in July, up 22.6% m/m (cons 8.0%, UBS 9.5%). The spike was led by the volatile civilian aircraft component: +318% m/m. Excluding transportation items, orders slipped 0.8% m/m (cons +0.5%, UBS -0.6%) in July after an upward-revised 3.0% gain in June (was 1.9%). Still, details of the report were quite favorable, especially after considering the upward revisions to June. The key nondefense capital goods ex aircraft orders series slipped only 0.5% m/m (cons +0.2%, UBS -0.3%) in July after a 5.4% m/m surge in June (revised from 3.3%). These key capital goods orders began Q3 up at a 16.5% annual rate after an 11.9% rate of increase in Q2. Capex shipments continued to advance in July, rising 1.5% m/m after 0.9% m/m in June (revised from -0.3%). They began Q3 up at a 13.5% annual rate (after a 7.3% pace in Q2) - signaling a booming pace of investment spending at the start of Q3. Conference Board index up 2.1 points to 92.4 - highest level since October 2007 The Conference Board consumer confidence index rose further in August, to 92.4 (cons 89, UBS 87). July was revised to 90.3 from 90.9. The improvement reflected a gain in the current conditions component (94.6 after 87.9). The expectations index indexes slipped 1 point to 90.9 (after rising 5.5 points in July). Assessments of labor market conditions strengthened again, with a net -12.4% reporting jobs hard to get versus a net -15.3% in July. That's the most favorable assessment of the labor market since May 2008 - when the unemployment rate was 5.4%." Come on now teabaggers, refute this, and tells us how the economy continues to suck. Tell us how America continues to fail and will never recover as long as a bl.......errr I mean as long as Obama is Prez. Just come on and show what dumbasses you are everyday. No taking days off. ------------------------- So if you are a surfer I wish you the prosperity that allows you more time to pursue the salt water dream, and the true happiness that comes from warm water, clean waves and the companionship of your fellow surfers. It doesn't matter. The baby boomers are retiring so there are more people not looking for work, therefore the economy sucks!
Geeeze, does the GOP want the boomers to work until they're 90 years old? |

Other records - People who have dropped out from work force People on food stamps and other gov't assistance. People on SS disability. People below the poverty line. Adult kids living with parents. Defaults on student loans. Most anemic recovery from a recession. And I'm sure that there are much more. The economy isn't well. The normal people on this forum know it. The progs, of course, will buy this tripe, even if the have been unemployed for 8 years, have lost their savings and house and are living under a bridge. ------------------------- I :heart; Q |

The spike was led by the volatile civilian aircraft component: +318% m/m. (the volitile means sometimes high sometimes low, this SPIKE is led by a volitile souce that for this month and this month only had a 318% rise)
Excluding transportation items, orders slipped 0.8% m/m (cons +0.5%, UBS -0.6%) in July after an upward-revised 3.0% gain in June (was 1.9%). (if you exclude the volitile transportation items ORDERS SLIPPED)
... The key nondefense capital goods ex aircraft orders series slipped only 0.5% m/m (Still Liberals call this good news because capital goods, those not military ONLY SLIPPED .5%)

+22.6% - largest monthly increase ever recorded
Overall durable goods orders were much stronger than expected in July, up 22.6% I know numbers and stuff are too much for teabaggers to understand, I'll break it down more for you in the future. The pace of the recovery is perfect. I know you idiotic teabaggin nitwits would like to see an unsustainable increase that would lead to another Bush style bubble, but it just aint happening. Teabaggers just sittin on the porch pluckin a bandjo singing that same old song...nobody knows the troubles....... Its really getting to be hilarious the more you bitch, moan and squeal the more things just keep gettin better. Course its not hard to have an economic recovery from the base left after the Bushwackers tried to put us into armegeddon. At some point when you dumbasses are proven to be totally wrong, will you please just turn the light off at the teabag motel? ------------------------- So if you are a surfer I wish you the prosperity that allows you more time to pursue the salt water dream, and the true happiness that comes from warm water, clean waves and the companionship of your fellow surfers. typical teabag, the dino didn't know he was in the tar pit. Tea bags want America to fail, sorry bout that, not gonna happen. Are all teabags preppers? Cool, stoking that economy, also. Ever read The Big Short? Probably not , its a book. You teabaggers usually can only get to the one pager that you googled. Not enough attention span and all that. Hey if you had that ACA maybe you could get some relief. ------------------------- So if you are a surfer I wish you the prosperity that allows you more time to pursue the salt water dream, and the true happiness that comes from warm water, clean waves and the companionship of your fellow surfers. The economy isn't a matter of looking at a glass as half full or half empty. That is the same as sticking your head in the sand. It is a matter of looking at both sides and then being honest with yourself, which is impossible for anyone with a hardcore agenda. If you are visiting a city and in need of directions, always ask 2-3 people. Finding an economist who will tell you what you want to hear is as easy as finding a stripper who will tell you that you are a good looking guy. Even though there are still some good things going on out there, GDP is the farthest below trend it has been in 64 years, employment among the adult population is at or close to an all time low, and the housing market is still feeble.

Not bad there sniper, that is a "moderate" approach. Certainly the pace of the recovery is moderate. No doubt no arguement. But my point is that, its not bad to have a slow recovery. You must realize how close 08 was to a 30s type of event.
Most people want to continue to make comparisons to past periods. With the pace of the technical and economic environment that we live in that becomes more difficult. You have to start to consider that individual country economic statistics are not as important as global statistics. Basically its a very connected global economy. If the US sneezes the rest of the world has a heart attack. This also means that there will continue to be wide shifts in the source of production. Another good read is a book called : : Who moved the cheese" Allegorically it talks about how jobs and production are constantly changing. A modern work force must consider that change is constant. Certainly the notion that you work for the same company for 35 years and retire on a pension is just plain not applicable. So what you have here on this 2L surf forum is dipshits like fuck knut, tampon, kkkranky, and a few junior aholes. These are the ones with the hardcore teabag agenda. Simple to sort out...they are just "anti". Everything sucks, everthing is bad, don't innovate don't try anything new, and for god's sake don't let anyone different then them in anyway have a valid opinion on anything. These fools have become slaves to the false idol news media. Notice that the cut and pastes are all ways from the same deushe bag sources. There "facts" are the only "facts" in the mind of the delusional. Fortunately these are not sources of information that I use to conduct any of my business. This forum is basically pure comedy. Free thinkers rule, slaves and clones that are teabaggers suck. Amazing what a good thumping in some surf will do to clear out the mind and body.
