Useful Idiots: Chipotle Espouses Communist Rhetoric On To-Go Bags
July 31, 2014 By Greg Campbell
After Chipotle declared that they were prohibiting patrons from exercising
their Second Amendment rights in their restaurants, the Mexican grill took
another step to the left by writing slogans on their bags that include plainly
Communist rhetoric.
The fast-food grill now issues paper bags for to-go orders with a variety of quotes from authors like Toni Morrison, Malcolm Gladwell and George Saunders.
The campaign, announced in May, was created by militant vegetarian Jonathan Safran Foer who claims that he wanted to offer people something to read while dining.
“A lot of these people don’t have access to libraries, or bookstores,” Foer said. “Something felt very democratic and good about this.”
Um… Okay. I can scarcely think of a town that has a Chipotle but not a public library. But moving on…
This is an attempt at clever marketing; let’s not pretend this is a humanitarian attempt provide literature one slogan at a time to the masses.
Still, one quote has stood out from the rest as it unabashedly calls for a Utopian existence free of monetary arrangements and committed to a Bolshevist ideology.
A bag with a quote from George Saunders offers this bit of pretentious rambling:
“Hope that, in future, all is well, everyone eats free, no one must work, all just sit around feeling love for one another.”
Damn- that should have been Obama’s campaign slogan…
The brief statement is simply absurd. Aside from the obvious impracticalities of such a world, the bag’s quote describes, essentially, a world without purpose- no working, no comparative value- just nothingness.
Further, the quote promotes a Communist ideology that is simply and ironically incompatible with the food establishment in which it is offered.
It’s amazing that I must state the obvious but….
If everybody eats for free, then Chipotle cannot exist as they must charge for their food.
Further, who would make the burritos if nobody must work but were, instead, sitting around the walk-in freezer “feeling love for one another?”
The saying on the bag is a colossally-moronic bit of pretentious garble that has no real relation to the world and can only serve as an embarrassment for Chipotle, Mr. Saunders and any Hippy-dippy moron dumb enough to gleam any semblance of thought from this brief and idiotic statement.

Yes, I like the opposite better: "Hope that, in future all is bad, food is super expensive, everyone must work in a coal mine, and sit around and feel hate for one another." That is more Bolshevik than the original saying!
I ate at chipotle for the first time this past weekend. The food was really good.

Why does the comparison have to be the opposite?
That statement on it's face is absurd and a total joke.

They are a private company and can do what they want to do in that regard. But, if I owned a restaurant I would not encourage my patrons to eat for free. I'll hazard a guess that a prog came up with that, given its stupidity.

Fish Killer, why is that such a horrible hope?
You don't want things to be well?
don't you eat for free?
you don't work, right
(We already know you feel little love for anyone)
is that the part that scares you?

Do you really think I'm 'scared'?
Really?

"For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat."
Maybe you can wrap your scared little self around that bit of information.
I doubt it though!

I think a company that profits from selling food printing “Hope that, in future, all is well, everyone eats free, no one must work, all just sit around feeling love for one another.” on their to-go bags is probably screwing with people.
FK pasted:

Yeah, hippies do suck. I just got back from Berkeley. Had a nice kayak paddle from Muir Beach to Berkeley one afternoon. Nice scenery. Stinky hipster dipshits and bums all over the place in Berkeley. The trip would be better if I could get the scenery without the people out there. Butt, is your average redneck's purpose any greater or more meaningful than a stinky hipster or hippy? Are redneck activities not generally frivolous? Example, what is great about the purpose of a redneck that spends his entire day out on Fellsmere WMA catching and releasing bass? His personal purpose might be to catch 100 fish in a day. At the end of the day his boat is just as empty as it was at the beginning of the day. So what's he actually done? You want comparitive values? The stinky hippy values his hacky sack and pot. The redneck likes to waste his time catching and releasing fish. I think they're both wasting their time because I value something else.

Most rednecks that I know hunt and fish....for food.
You know...GROCERIES!
They work...for food.
I can see how you mistake a redneck as someone who catches and releases 100 bass in a day and then turns and compares them to the lazy prog hippie who wants something for nothing......as your brains aren't quite right!
Only a YUPPIE would do that.
I know of NO redneck doing that
Not one!
I do know that a redneck will charge (guide) a yuppie (hippie with a little money) for cash to go out and catch 100 bass and turn them lose...but there is a sucker born every minute so thats understandable.

I'm in the cooler club myself. C/R fishing is waste of time.
But still, fishing and hunting for food is a farce for most. Inefficient hobby. Still a sport and only slightly less wasteful than C/R. You can pretend that it is valued time but that is merely your opinion. Unless you are out there with a net hauling in 100s of lbs of meat per trip, groceries are more efficiently procured at Downtown Produce than in the field or on the water.
I know of NO redneck doing that
You can go out to the rec pad when the bite is good and find plenty of rednecks bass fishing. You won't likely catch me on the river until the water gets low and the tilapia aggregate. Then I can load up in a couple of hours and get on to other tasks. And shad, I'll fish shad when they're running because you can't buy shad roe locally and that stuff sells for $20+ a set up north. I'm still doing it for the fun though. There's more efficient ways to get calories than driving all the way up to Tosohatchee or SR50 to catch a shad.

Cheater ought to be honest and let all his clients know that he thinks they are suckers then.
Funny thing, a lot of paying clients on guided trips in FL are rednecks from Ohio, Kentucky, NC, etc... But you think its all yuppies. Right. Yuppies are driving down from 15 hrs away and paying good money to go on guided fishing trips. Uh huh.
