What a coincidence, so is the Florida GOP:

Here's the Florida Senate bill. Individuals can take "growlers" home, but most everything else has to pass thru a licensed distributor. Florida law has a similar setup for cars, as mentioned here. I think it's possible that state car dealer requirements might get thrown out by federal courts (though I expect the courts would have heard cases long, long ago). If I remember correctly, the constitutional amendment repealing Prohibition gave the states broad authority to regulate or restrict trade in alcohol.
BTW, there was a pet food panic. Dog jerky treats imported from China killed hundreds of pet dogs. FDA |

Responding to the outcry, the FDA said in a statement it is now looking to revise the language for the rule this summer before issuing a final decision sometime next year.
Yet Fox news charges with both barrels blazing. God forbid they have actual news stories. ------------------------- I was right. |

Florida Lawmakers are doing everything they can to hinder beer brewers
Gainesville's Swamp Head Brewery is the kind of small-business success story that the state should be encouraging. The brewery has won accolades for its beers, including a gold medal for its Smoke Signal porter in the World Beer Cup on Friday. Swamp Head's success is leading to plans for a new brewery and tasting room twice the size of its current facility. Swamp Head is among a growing number of Florida breweries riding the wave of craft beer's increasing popularity. Yet Florida lawmakers are doing everything they can to hinder rather than help these businesses. Some lawmakers have been surprisingly up front about the reason: the clout of beer distributors that are major campaign donors. http://www.gainesville.com/art...torial-Brewing-success |

First he screws people with the prices of Bacon doubling during his tenure: The price of pork bellies, that part of the pig turned into bacon, has jumped to $130 per 100 pounds, with signs it could reach $150, according to CNBC.com. Last June, a single pound of pork bellies cost only 94 cents, or $94 per 100 pounds. Countrywide, high corn prices have forced farmers to pare down their herds, limiting supply and potentially putting bacon out of reach of some American families. The price jump has led to bacon costing up to $4.77 per pound in May, and estimates have it reaching as high as $6. Compare that to last April, when bacon costed an average of just $3.64 per pound.
BUT NOW he's screwing with BEER... OBAMAaaaaaaaaa... Bastard... ------------------------- |

The National Beer Wholesalers Association Political Action Committee (NBWA PAC) is the largest Political action committee (PAC) in the licensed beverage industry. The NBWA PAC was also ranked as the 12th largest on Political Finance's list of Top 100 PACs. That is the organization bribing our elected officials (primarily Republicans) to pass laws insisting all beer sold goes through distributorship. Gotta make sure they get their pound of flesh for doing nothing. It's the same problem Tesla ran headlong into when their business plan was to sell directly to the customer bypassing dealerships. The dealership association then bribed elected officials to pass laws preventing that. Why don't we just call big industry political contributions what they are? Bribes.
