True, but we could easily choose retire that debt by simply collecting enough taxes to cover our obligations, (or by breaking promises).

We are richer and more powerful than we ever were.
That we continue this success while continuing to choose to increase that debt (although now at a decelerating rate) is even more evidence of our strength.

And since deficit reduction is the policy and effect of this administration ( the federal budget deficit is projected to drop to the lowest level in five years, in spite of the R HOR), it's hard to see this as anything but than more of the silly off-target partisanship we expect from our (local?) brain trust.

Some citizens share is much higher, most is much lower.
Some "artificial Persons" share could be much higher.

I do have kids and hate leaving them this debt,.
That's why I want to raise enough revenue to reduce it.

I bet I've payed more taxes in my life than you.
I don't mind that though, I went through the mill, work hard and make good money, can afford to pay more if it means a better future.
