FOX - Chris Wallace

The GOP has no plan.

Mitch is hanging on for dear life in the video.

And so you're a regressive, and want more of the same. We're progressive, and we will push forward.

It's been happening for years.  It started with the new deal and every social program since. Both Dems and Reps are to blame.

And what exactly is Obama's plan? Another stimulus? Maybe try cash-for-clunkers again but with boats? Maybe we could do cash-for-clunkers with automatic assault weapons and then put them directly in the hands of criminals in Mexico, without any tracking devices on them, and in the middle of a drug war that has already claimed the lives of over 60,000 people. I'm sure they will use them to hunt ducks or something. What exactly are you progs doing to push the economy forward?

How do you feel about the open guns sales in towns along the border? Are you fine with someone being able to purchase half a dozen lethal weapons at a time?

You must be talking about something different. I wasn't referring to anyone buying a gun in a gun shop and having it registered. I was talking about the Obama administration putting unregistered assault weapons in the hands of criminals and murderers in Mexico, without tracking devices on them, without notifying the Mexican government, and for the sole purpose of murdering others. Is that Obama's plan for getting our economy back on track and getting people back to work? The drug war in Mexico has already claimed the lives of 60,000 people. Maybe Obama thinks that if he can supply enough weapons that the Mexicans will kill each other off and that will solve the open border problem.

The real story on Fast and Furious is that gun sales are so legally lax in the border states that even when they identified straw buyers to prosecutors, they could not prosecute them. Apparently it's not illegal to plunk down multi-thousands on multiple long gun purchases even when you have no visible source of income, and then decide to "sell" them to someone else in the parking lot.

I'm a gun guy, I have many. But there needs to be some reasonable way to stop this.

If you're upset about the flow of guns to the cartels, blame the NRA.

You are getting some bad info from somewhere.

Voth's mandate was to stop gun traffickers in Arizona, the state ranked by the gun-control advocacy group Legal Community Against Violence as having the nation's "weakest gun violence prevention laws." Just 200 miles from Mexico, which prohibits gun sales, the Phoenix area is home to 853 federally licensed firearms dealers. Billboards advertise volume discounts for multiple purchases.

Customers can legally buy as many weapons as they want in Arizona as long as they're 18 or older and pass a criminal background check. There are no waiting periods and no need for permits, and buyers are allowed to resell the guns. "In Arizona," says Voth, "someone buying three guns is like someone buying a sandwich."

By 2009 the Sinaloa drug cartel had made Phoenix its gun supermarket and recruited young Americans as its designated shoppers or straw purchasers. Voth and his agents began investigating a group of buyers, some not even old enough to buy beer, whose members were plunking down as much as $20,000 in cash to purchase up to 20 semiautomatics at a time, and then delivering the weapons to others.

Blame the NRA for Obama putting assault weapons directly in the hands of known criminals, for the sole purpose of murdering people? Makes sense. Got it. So back to the topic at hand. What is the great progressive solution to our economic problems? Should we throw another couple trillion dollars down a well? Should we invest billions more dollars into companies that we have been advised not to invest in and then watch more of them go into bankrupcy? Another cash-for-clunkers? Or just more of the same? Maybe we should just keep hoping and waiting while nothing gets done? Obama has gambled away our tax dollars on some of the most risky investments I've ever seen and has lost big on damn near every single one of them. I would like to see a President in the White House that spends our money more carfully and actually feels some sort of responsibility for whether or not the investments he or she makes with our money succeed.

The plan started under the bush administration and the guns were purchased legally in the United States, the AFT screwed up by losing track, but then again, tracking can't be an easy thing when thousands of "legal" guns cross the border everyday.

To the topic at hand, does it make more sense to go back to the way Bush ran the country? That's what Romney is planning to do.

..and what is this three trillion you are talking about? You do understand that the yearly budget for the US exceeds three trillion a year and has since the Bush administration.

Bush's program, "wide receiver" and Obama's "fast and furious" don't have a lot in common. Wide receiver was a program that worked with the Mexican government to put chips in 300 weapons, in an attempt to trace them. Fast and furious put over 2,000 assault weapons in the hands of criminals with no intentions of tracing them and without notifying the Mexican government. Over 700 of these weapons have been recovered at crime scenes and we have a dead American border patrol agent as a result. Wide receiver ended in 2007 and Fast and furious started up in 2009.

Budget? Obama hasn't passed a budget in over 3 years. He doesn't think it is any of the American people's business how he spends their money.

But payments still need to be made, don't they; the $800 billion dollar military ain't going to pay for itself?
