e-mails reveal extent of obamas deal with industry on health care
After weeks of talks, drug industry lobbyists were growing nervous. To cut a deal with the White House on overhauling health care, they needed to be sure that President Obama would stop a proposal intended to bring down medicine prices. On June 3, 2009, one of the lobbyists e-mailed Nancy-Ann DeParle, the president's health care adviser. Ms. DeParle reassured the lobbyist. Although Mr. Obama was overseas, she wrote, she and other top officials had "made decision, based on how constructive you guys have been, to oppose importation" on a different proposal. Just like that, Mr. Obama's staff signaled a willingness to put aside support for the reimportation of prescription medicines at lower prices and by doing so solidified a compact with an industry the president had vilified on the campaign trail. Central to Mr. Obama's drive to remake the nation's health care system was an unlikely collaboration with the pharmaceutical industry that forced unappealing trade-offs. |

One of the biggest problems with healthcare in the US is the Big drug companies. 1/3 of the payouts of medicare drug money goes for mood altering drugs. Once again big money doing what it takes to make bigger money. And the people lose again. ------------------------- Old and Slow can be stylish if you eliminate the jerky part |

Someday, just maybe, the blinded pack will see what a sleaze Obama is, how he's as low as the lowest. Cheaper drugs are available, yet he'll work to keep them from the American people just to protect the profits of Big Pharma. A smart man would wonder how else he's selling out America to benefit himself and his cronies. It can only get worse, Let's hope the smart people realize this and vote to end the reign of this corrupt abba-dabba. -------------------------

As far as "Bush policies," will you ever wake up to the fact that Bush is no longer president, and that no matter what he did when he was, they have no effect whatsoever on what Obama does now. People are sick of you progs trying to blame all of Obama's fuckups on Bush, or any of a half-dozen other handy bogeymen. You guys backed a loser, and that's that.
