I just left my house and was heading back to work, while driving down the road I see a blur flash across very low then an parachute struggle to open before disappearing below the treeline...I thought to myself there is no way that is what I think it is. Then a black smoke ball erupted from behind the trees. The fire on the apartment building was so fierce and spread so quickly. I tried to find the pilot I saw eject but everything was so chaotic. The 1st responders were on the scene so quickly.
Virginia Beach, Virginia (CNN) -- A U.S. Navy admiral said Saturday that the fiery crash of a fighter jet into apartment buildings in the military community of Virginia Beach matches his definition of a miracle. No one was killed and everyone was accounted for one day after the accident. "I don't speak for anybody's religious beliefs, but the mayor and I both agreed that if you want to define a miracle, what happened here yesterday meets that definition for me," Adm. John Harvey, the four-star head of the U.S. Fleet Forces Command, told reporters. |

That's across the street from the 501 city grill, isn't it? Luckily there was an retired first responder at the scene.
the miracle is that it doesn't happen more often. Day in and day out they do touch and go. That when they act like they're landing, then blast off again. The noise is constant and deafening. When I first moved here there was an accident where they touched and went off the top of a lady's car killing her and her unborn child. A couple years ago they ripped across the sky above a ocean front hotel, scaring a car load of tourons attempting to park on top of the hotel. The driver got skeert, stepped on the gas and drove off the bld. The airfield is located on miles of prime oceanfront property. They could do their deeds off shore. As a matter of fact, the Enterprise is going to be decommissioned if it returns from the Gulf. Sit that bad boy off shore and let them bounce off that. that is if they don't false flag it first. ------------------------- Yo no estoy casado. Pero mi esposa esta casada. |

I think they have to practice landing on ground a lot before trying it on a ship.

501 would be on the left just past the clump of trees. The jets are loud...I kind of just accept they come with the territory. They were here before I moved here so I can't complain about that. The 1st time I really experienced the deafening noise I was sitting on my porch enjoying a nice summer day. I heard the jet noise growing and it just kept getting louder and louder. I thought one was landing on my house and I ran inside to hide 
Since then I've moved a closer to the beach and outside the very high noise zone. Thank goodness. |

wow. close call. any video? No, I only took 2 pictures. I left my phone in the car when I pulled up to the crash. I had adrenaline running and wanted to help but was helpless. From my angle I could only see where the plane hit one building and that building was a raging fire growing rapidly with the smell of jet fuel everywhere. There were other fighter jets circling the crash site. The sirens were so close I moved out of the way.

Glad no one was hurt.
Its a start to cleaning up the apts though. Those rat nests needed torn down 20+ yrs ago when I lived there. |
