Obama's Budget: 'Interest Payments Will Exceed Defense Budget' in 2019

he latest chart from the Senate Republican Budget Committee, pointing out that under President Obama's budget, the U.S. government will be spending more in 2019 to pay down the interest on the national debt than it will be to defend America:

When you add 5 Trillion in 3 years, somebody has to pay the piper.

The result will be higher taxes and reductions in discrectionary spending.

When you stage unfunded wars and give huge tax breaks to the rich and loopholes for everyone, you get deficits.

Iraq and Afghanistan will cost us a lot more than 5 trillion, and why is 'defense' spending projected to perpetually increase?

Romney's budget is to add more than that of Obama's, how does that figure into the Senate Republican Budget Committee plan?

"Our councils of government failed to guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, sought by the military industrial complex, resulting in the disastrous rise of misplaced power.

We let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties and democratic processes. We took too much for granted.

Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.

We were neither."

Where'd you hear about Romney's budget, Cole? Give us some details, okay? So far as I can tell, he hasn't even mentioned what it'd be if he were to get elected. But, since you apparently have the inside line on things, please let us know the particulars.

Unlike Obama who submitted a fluff and bull budget that couldn't even get one Dem vote, the Republicans offered a serious budget.  Immediately, Obama starts making all kinds of wild and unfounded claims about starving kids, and grandmas going over the cliff again.

If Obama is re-elected and we stay on the same trajectory we will continue to burden our kids and grandkids with more debt and no future.  Eventually, we will be bankrupt and become a banana republic.

Personally, I think the best we can do is put off the day of reckoning when whole house of cards collapses.  We are in so far over our head it may be impossible to turn around our debt problem unless we get real solid leadership willing to make the tough decisions.  It definately isn't going to be with Obama and the dems.

Budget? I'm suprised Obama knows what a budget is. One hasn't been passed in 3 years. The republicans have proposed over 30 of them. Harry Reid and the Democrats have refused to allow any of them from going to a vote in the Senate. The Democrats just don't want to have to actually go on record and say that they are voting down all these budgets, when they have no other solutions. Obama and the Dems are a f'ing joke. Congress is obligated by the constitution to pass a budget every year. When are they going to start being held accountable for doing their jobs?

I've posted it several times, you even argued that it came from the WSJ, though you did fail to discuss the actual subject of the article.

Under his current plan Romney will put us deeper in debt, that's a fact.

Other than a comparison, it had nothing to do with Obama.
