I think one should be old and slow before you start riding waves on a SUP. If you can still crawl fast enough to catch waves without too much pain you should stick to crawling. Injury and disabled excepted. Females ride whatever, where ever, whenever.(girls rule, boys drool)

Old and Slow can be stylish if you eliminate the jerky part

One of the guys at work told me he might try SUP when he got older. I told him if he waited, it would be too hard. Then he tried it. Gained new respect for how difficult it was. I can catch waves much easier on my funshape or longboard then on my SUP. Maybe you should try it. ( By the way, I am female, so you have given me permission to ride whatever I want. Thanks!)

Done both and catching waves on a SUP is WWWWAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY easier. Maybe the first few times it feels harder then once you figure it out its so easy even a caveman can do it

try living Gulfside and you would own one for surfing. The "Micro" SUPs are a real challenge, and they are getting the desings to work a lot better in steeper waves. But I won;t ride one if it is over thigh high, or if it is super mush waist + . But I also feel that if it makes the rider happy who am I/you to judge. After all aren't we all supposed to be free to do what we want without fear or ridicule from others ?

I am loving the extra water time. Also love touring on mine. Used to Kayak the rivers and inland lakes when flat. Way better standing.
