Nice article. I saw Styx at the King Center about 3 years ago -- A surprisingly excellent show. Tommy Shaw on 12-string acoustic was sonic perfection. Crystal Ball > Mr. Roboto by a long shot! Saw them in Lakeland around 1981 (Paradise Theater tour?), standing near the front row, got some killer photos of JY on guitar.

I've seen Styx at the king center as well. They were really good. However, the replacement singer is not as good. I've seen Dennis Deyoung and he is really good as well live. Wish they would get back together. They would really tear it up for one last final tour. They ain't getting any younger!

But I guess bad blood is bad blood. When I saw styx at king center they jokingly broke into the first bars of Mr Roboto then abruptly quit and joked about "not gonna play that one". Now I guess its back in their set list.

I also saw Styx when they performed "Kilroy Was Here" tour. I liked it. It was like a broadway show.

My sister knew Tommy Shaw in High School as we lived in Montgomery in the mid-70s. I always liked Styx. Pieces of 8 album is my favorite. That came out when I was around 15'ish, or 16ish. Maybe 17ish. I would have to do the math.

I pretty much hated that song too!
