The Tedeschi Trucks Band concert last night in Jacksonville was a very emotional event.

Bummer, he actually lived just south of Savannah, same neck of the swamp as us - not too far from our little dry spot.  He's been kind of a fixture that we would see around town (well at least our little liquor store) every once and a while.  Noticed he still had the eye for the young Georgia peaches.

What a force Greg and Duane were as founders of the Allman Brothers Band in the early 70s. Alas it was never the same after Duane died.

I saw them a bunch from '70 to '72. My dad was stationed in Alabama. Some friends and I would hang out behind the venue at Jasksonville State U and listen to the tunes. One day a van pulled up and the guys started unloading equipment. We grabbed some boxes and amps and helped the bring it in. Once, then we disappeared into the crowd. It was them I found out after the lights went out. I saw them again at gym at U of A in Birmingham. The piggies busted some guy as soon as the show started. They turned on the lights, rough the hippie up and shut down the concert. The piggies were surrounded and a melee ensued. Cops started cracking skulls until someone started passing out helmets and bats. Finally Duane came out and said they could play 1 song. It was 45 minutes of Revival.
