in my humble opinion.

" But on eliminating every other reason for our sad demise
They logged the only explination left
This species has amused itself to death."

You can't say that is better than The Wall, Dark Side, or the others. Well, you can, but it ain't. Good song. but not best Floyd. Never heard the song but it is good. I like how it builds thru the song.

Sounds contrived.

The retired AF fighter pilot next door has EVERYTHING they ever released, even individually, and most of the "(insert name) Orchestra plays Pink Floyd" stuff too. He liked to blare Floyd from the huge speakers fitted on his PSYOP Cessna when he did a tour with the Special Forces guys in Vietnam. (He did 2 other tours in F-4s, and one in Thuds (F-105)).

That would be awesome as crap to be slung off an aircraft carrier while some heavy floyd. When I take a flight, I have my mp3 player set on this song at the 3:37 mark for take off.

Ha ha, cut you into little pieces.

If you dig the Meddle album, you'll love David Gilmour's solo version of Echoes from his Live in Gdansk CD. Echoes

The shift from rock to psychedelic funk at 6:35 is way cool.

^Way trippy Floyd! I think I got that album in '77 shortly after being exposed to Pink Floyd.

That album also has "Several Species of Small, Furry Animals Gather Together in a Cave, Grooving with a Pict" whatever the hell that all meant.

I loaned my vinyl copy to a friend and never got it back.

The cover photo within a photo within a photo was some early work by art firm Hipgnosis whose last founding member just died a few years ago. The list of albums they decorated is a Who's Who of rock and roll.

A pict was a ancient Scot. That was always part of the mind expansion tunes.

"Wish You Were Here" and earlier Pink Floyd was the best!
