And, to make it even better, very reliable sources tell me that the founder of Tequila Avion will be at Tequila Azul in Viera from 6 to 7:30pm this coming Tuesday, 1/10/2017. Gonna be some "tasting" going on.

Ya'll missed an excellent Tequila tasting. Ken Austin, the founder of Tequila Avion, was great, he talked individually with everybody in attendance and personally poured most of the shots. He first told his story; accountant, sales, Executive VP Seagrams, Marquis Jet, his love of tequila, Avion. Then he talked about hooking up with the Lopez family in Mexico and working with them to develop Avion. Then the agave plant and how it is grown, harvested and turned into tequila (he pointed out the differences between his processes and his competitors') while he offered us all tastings of his four tequilas; Silver (2012 World's Best Tasting Tequila, and 2012 World's Best White Spirit), Reposado (rested), Anejo, and then to top everything thing off he poured a generous portion of his top-of-the-line Reserva 44. Then he sat and signed bottles, teeshirts and such for everyone.

Now, the Silver is outstanding and is, as they say, "smooth as silk", but, , , , the 44 was fantastic! All of the hidden flavors and the deep, natural, caramelization puts it way-over-the-fooking-top. I told Ken that he could reduce it down to a syrup and put it on vanilla ice cream!

The master distributor was there with a supply of the 44, I know it was a "good deal" but I don't know the price. I think Total Wine gets $159!

Ken pours it like he owns it!
