From Snowy White, who played for Thin Lizzy from 1980-1982, and contributed some work to Pink Floyd before that. Midnight Blues
It starts a little slow, but just gets beautiful from there. Fleetwood Mac's first guitarist (from 1967 to about 1971?) Peter Green, jammin with Snowy White in Slabo Day. Some real pretty guitar and a funky beat underneath. This one's a rerun from an older thread, but it's mellow and delicious; I'm still diggin' it: Tinsley Ellis: In from the Cold Enjoy! |

There are some really sweet live versions out there, but I haven't yet found one with audio that sounds good on a crappy PC. Enjoy.

Otis Taylor -- Hey Joe (version B) One of the more interesting Hey Joes I've heard: violin, guitar, and banjo in the different verses. Hey Joe (Version A) includes trumpets Sadly, there will be no Michael Burks tour. He died in 2012. Tinsley Ellis, however, will be in Tampa with the Damon Fowler Band on April 14, and at Terra Fermata in Stuart on April 15. Joe Bob says check it out! |

Bryce Janey -- Runnin' Down the Road Dave Meniketti -- Say Goodbye Deborah Coleman -- Everlastin' Tears This one surprised me: The Martin Barre Band doing Crossroads. Martin joined Jethro Tull as a lead guitarist in 1968. His solo band has picked up another amazing lead guitarist (Dan Crisp) who also does a surprisingly good Ian Anderson vocal. They played at the Plaza Live in Orlando Friday night and blew me away. A good mix of Tull classics, no flute, but about 5x the guitar work, including a lot of beautiful twin lead-guitar harmonies. It was like Wishbone Ash crossed with Black Sabbath playing some very melodic, yet crunchy blues. For $27!!! Lots of good stuff out there, but I only put up Crossroads since it's a blues thread and Barre was playing a mandolin. Being a fan of guitar in general but harder rock in a bluesy style in particular, I apologize for this thread not being more traditional blues. Feel free to contribute whatever you like. On that , here's one I was going to put in its own Wailing Wednesday thread, but since it has Joe Bonamassa and I'm lazy, it goes here.
What do you get when you cross Joe Bonamassa with Led Zeppelin (Jason Bonham), Deep Purple (Glenn Hughes), and Dream Theater (Derek Sherinian)? Black Country Communion -- Song of Yesterday |
