Prime Empanada near Nikis greek restaurant is top notch. The empanadas are authentic south american fare. The soups are great too. Good stuff all around. we need more restaurants like this around here, real deal not Americanized bastardized versions of foreign poverty/comfort food. The owners are out to be the best not appear the best. I'm in!

The owners are very nice people and treated me and my friend like family! Supporting local business that provides great authentic food is also a plus. My favorite empanada is their mozerella and that green salsa .. I have never had anything like it!

I went there on Friday, very good and super friendly people. Unfortunately it's a terrible location, because it's hidden from the road and that plaza is weirdly invisible even to locals. Definitely give them a try, the fish empanada was insanely good.

The mizzus and I are on it. I'm an empanada fiend.

Interested! Is it a 'Grab an Empanada and Run' place, or a 'Sit Down Dinnery' type joint?

Reminds me of the time, long ago, when we were flying home from St. Thomas after Christmas. Flew a puddle jumper from St. Thomas to San Juan, then the jet to Ft. Lauderdale. Anyway, , , , we were hungry enough already, , , , and it seemed that every Prican on the flight was taking a big box of fresh, home made, empanada home to FLA.

Thanks for the reminder bump.

Caught them open tonight and carried out 6 beef+pork mix empanadas, 6 chicken, about 10 mini-fish empanadas, 1 veggie empanada (black beans w/ cheese and plantains) and a sampler of all their delicious pastries.

Their sauces are good too: basically a mustard + cilantro base, one mild and one spiced up. Both go really well on all the empanada meats.

Plenty of meat in each empanada too.

Will definitely go back!

The veggie was my favorite, and the fish, but all of them are great. I just hope they can make it in that little strip.

Me too. Owner hopes the faithful will spread the word via Facebook and other means.

I hope the owner will expand the menu just a little bit, starting with fried plantains (platano maduro) as a side dish.

I think it will take a little more than empanadas and delicious pastries to bring in the bigger crowds.

But I bet a shrimp empanada with some sauce inside (garlic/butter based?) would be a hit.

And, of course, ceviche. <-- Word!

Stopped in for lunch with a friend, and the empanadas were awesome. Very fresh, good flavors, and quite filling. They do mini empanadas too.

Just got an order to go.  The empanadas were great, liked the big ones vs the smaller ones.  The beef/pork and the cheese were the best and excellent.  The owner was super nice and provided some samples.  I don't generally eat fried food but it was worth the calories.  Had to bring them home since he doesn't sell beer yet

We stopped in tonite and gave it a try.  We had the chicken, beef, cheese, and Blackbean/plaintain/cheese Empanadas and the Lentil soup.  Everything was fresh and tasty and the owner was very attentive and nice.
