Jim was the Man; what a great life.
The first Marshall amp WAS a Fender tweed bassman. Ask Bamboo; he built one. Different tubes; different output transformer and slightly stiffer power supply did change the sound somewhat making it more British (the Brits seem to like chimey sounds a la the Vox AC 30). The insane howl from this amp can be heard on the Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton album. I think AC/DC also favors JTM45s. The later Marshalls (plexis, MV and JCMs) got more into screaming territory. ------------------------- Learn something. Anything. Please. |
