Need to replace carpet in my living room. Mid-range quality (not high end) as we have a dog and surfers in the house. Looking for recommendations - local company? Home Depot or Lowes? House is in Cocoa Beach.

Bamboo...

Home depot also has some beachwood looking flooring that we are going with.

It was reasonable per sq ft.

I am done with carpets

Linoleum with carpet tiles for walkways.  FLOR tiles are kind of expensive but they offer some good sales and some pretty low-priced durable types.

Check out some nice vinyl plank flooring.... I know it sounds cheesy, but there's some good stuff out there, with a built in cushion pad underneath.  I saw some nice stuff (waterproof too) but I already had 2 pallets of tile delivered to the house after I ripped up the floors after the Matthew flood

More $ initially than carpet but it'll last... but feels nicer on the feet than tile.

My good friend is a good tile/stone installer, and he actually showed me (and endorsed) the stuff.

just a thought..... if not, home depot often has free carpet installation specials

hate carpet.  berber at a minimum if you have kids, dogs, or surfers.  I will echo somebodyelse.  We have beechwood throughout 90% of the house (one block from A1A). It has the best expansion/contraction for humidity.
