What if instead of blasting cargo into space on a rocket, we could fling it into space using a catapult? That's the big, possibly crazy, possibly genius idea behind SpinLaunch.

Interesting idea, and it's gaining more traction

It's gonna be really hard.

Orbitial velocity > 17000 mph.

But the thing will slow down a lot after launch and have to still be going > 17K mph after it gets up. In fact, I am not aware of anything traveling through air at that speed without disintegrating.
