Such an exciting victory. Truly a great bowl game. Perfect. So often said so seldom true.

The last 3 years of UCF Football would make for a great movie. 0-12 to 13-0. Wow!

Woot. Great game to be at. UCF fans outnumbered and out cheered Auburn. Actually probably more Auburn fans but hard to see that in my UCF section.
The Mercedez Benz Stadium in Atlanta is really nice. UCF NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! UNDEFEATED AND UNDISPUTED... |

I never could find anybody to give me UCF and 9.5 points. Wish I had. |

My buddy is finding every pundit who said that the UCF was dead on arrival. No shortage of crow on those menus.

Anybody think that Griffin will get picked up in the NFL draft? He's down a hand and all, but man does he get around! He reminds me of Polamalu in the way he just always seemed to be in the right place at the right time.

He's an amazing talent.
AU's coach referred to him as "#18" in a post-game compliment, but I wonder if it's because they were so underprepared they didn't know his name. A lot of people do now, that's for sure. Hard to say about the NFL though. They can be fickle. But his twin brother was drafted by the Seahawks in the 4th round this year, so a legacy of NFL-grade DNA should help open some eyes and minds. ------ Also, a quick laugh at Auburn: https://youtu.be/Sz8DPMKVgpQ?t=3m20s |

#18 probably will get a shot at the NFL. Who wouldn't want him on your team? Probably special teams rookie year until the coaches figure out he is a one man wrecking crew.

Just looking back a few years, when a team with no history had a chance at the big dance:
The 2007 USF Bulls. They were in the Big East conference at the time, which is considered a major conference, but always more of a basketball power than a football contender (two UM championships aside). Da Bulls made it all the way up to #2 in the rankings after 6 games, 4 of which were against weak teams that year (Elon, UNC, FAU, and UCF). But they did beat #5 WV and #17 Auburn (at Jordan Hare). Had they not melted down into a 3-game losing streak against Rutgers, UConn, and Cincinnati), they would have finished the season in a major BCS bowl game instead of the Sun Bowl. A relatively weak schedule with two big, early wins against ranked teams, would have been enough to be in consideration for a national championship. Beating Auburn at JH Stadium is no small feat. WV is always flakey, and their #5 ranking was probably a tad high, but it's still higher than UCF's biggest win against a #7 Auburn. |
