I had done the Disney cruises with my family, and its pricey but definitely awesome.

I'm thinking of doing another cruise and looking at Carnival, I'm blown away by the good pricing.

But I'm wondering what people's experiences have been on these cruise lines- especially if you have been on a Disney cruise to compare it to- are the ships nice/clean etc? How is the food, etc

Thanks for any help

Never been on Disney's ships, or RC's newer ships, but have done a few on RC's older ships. Food was great every day, with a bonus party of really good food out by the pool deck on the last night. I'm not picky, but it was good enough for my family.

Went on a 7 day Western Caribbean this spring on the Carnival Glory. Didn't have any issues, their kid's club is great and free until 9pm I believe (our boys are 6 and 8 and loved it the few times we took them). Food was good on the ship, we ate at one of the steakhouses that charge extra one night and it was a really nice meal. Meals in the regular dining rooms were good with decent variety on the menu and the buffets had a good selection as well. I've never been on a Disney cruise to compare it to but for the price I think Carnival did a good job.

I grew up cruising. I have been on 40-50 of them, all over and many different cruise lines. Generally speaking, the newer the ship, the better the quality of the cruise. Carnival & Royal have really new ships and really old ships. So you will find that people have had vastly different experiences because of that.

The new royal Caribbean ships have flow riders, indoor skydiving, zip lines. That stuff is a lot of fun! My 68 year old dad is obsessed with the flow rider.

Old ships tend to do shorter cruises (3-4 day)

Newer ships tend to do longer cruises (7-10 day)

good luck

Been on one cruise.  Took Carny.   Really fun, tons of food, snorkled with kids on beautiful reef, Nassau, three days four nights, really cheap.  ++

Only been on one cruise that wasn't an aircraft carrier and that was Norwegian. Everything was top notch; brand new ship, great food everywhere you go on board and lots of fun stuff to do.

It was kind of pricey, but worth it IMO.

We like Royal Carb the best.
Use to cruise Princess until Carnival bought them then their food and service dropped to Carnival level.

Have actually surfed on several cruises...
Barbados
Aruba
Cozumel
