been watching them clear the entire corner except the Korean place (will be gone soon) over the last few DAYS...gone so quickly..runmor is WAWA will built, Looks like a very large footprint to work with, hoping traffic patterns do not get too bad...WAWA, um ate a bunch in NJ , not great not bad, processed meats but decent coffee.....A twist to this is the women who owned the land was recently killed out in Grant. sad story sure $$$ was involved and the end result is a Supersized WAWA, landowner and child murdered and small biz pushed out...bad karma hanging over the work site.

i'm not too impressed with wawa. I needed garbage bags a few months ago. Went in there for the first time and there was no garbage bags. What kind of convenience store doesn't stock garbage bags? 7/11 a block away had garbage bags.

The cuban coffee was pretty good though. I've had the sandwiches, eh, had better.

God I hope not.

The traffic there gets backed up way too much as it is with that right-turn only lane coming from beachside. I've seen more than one road rage go down during the 4:30 backup with people trying to cross the traffic line from the Korean restaurant side to get beachside (left to the bridge)

If a WaWa or other gas station goes in there- there will be way more people trying to pull that move.. I don't see it being fun.

Then throw in this supposed All-Aboard Florida train going by there every hour backing the traffic up even more and it makes for good good times

I think the Brightline train will be the least of the problems.  There is a scheme to build a new rail line from Miami along US 25 to Lake Okeechobee to move a lot of the freight inland.

In terms of gas station location, I think there may be such things as corners that are too busy or too crowded.  In Vero, Cumberland Farms put a new store on a site that can be crowded and hard to get in and out of.  Wawa chose a slightly less central site that was bigger and offered a better back way out.  I suspect Wawa has the better real estate operation.  The one on I-95 at SR 60 looks ready to open.

I still haven't wandered into Wawa, despite having driven right past Wawa world headquarters in Wawa.  There really is such a place, complete with Wawa Dairy.

We need Japanese convenience stores.  Their 7-Elevens have no-fee ATMs with instructions in English.  I was able to find a nice extension cord at one.  They also sell whiskey.

They have reasonable non-ethanol gas!

They are supposed to add a right turn lane and have both current lanes go straight on 192, is what I am told.

Funny you should mention that Chi- as I drove through the intersection today and thought--

"Hmmm if they let the current right-only lane go straight through as well, and then widen the road a bit to accomodate a NEW right turn-only lane- they could actually FIX this mess."

Seems like it would be a good idea.. hope they do that.

TOTALLY agree on the extra right turn lane. Would eliminate the cluster of people figuring out the current setup too close to the intersection. Still seems like a very inappropriate location for a high-traffic biz like Wawa. (Good for Wawa, bad for public)

NE, where the bus station used to be. The entire block will be a Wawa with 16 gas pumps. A really nice, classy entrance to Melbourne, kind of like the entrance to US-1 at Wabasso Causeway. It is going to be a HUGE traffic nightmare with folks coming out of there trying to make a left turn. I'm sure they will have "NO LEFT TURN" signs up and they will be every bit as successful as the one that used to be (before Indialantic just gave up and removed them) at the Wendy's in Indialantic. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

I haven't been to a 7-11 since Wa Wa opened.

192 at that corner is out of hand in the afternoons. About six months ago they had the I95 north bound light from the west on flashing yellow, talk about a stressful suicide dive across two lanes!

Does anyone know what's going in the new entrance a 1/4th mile or so west of 95 on 192?

WaWa isn't a convenience store.
It's for gas, food and drink.

The new Cumberland Farms are pretty good.  It's amazing how gas stations are getting rebuilt.

On the side, Martin County once again rejected plans for a new Costco.  This time, it's said to be a minor fix and the project should go ahead after several years of delays.  Could a delegation from Brevard wave the county's perfect demographics and locals' distaste for shopping in Orlando in front of some Costco people?

I like Wawa, cheap gas, good sammich. The one on Pineda stays brisk.

Saw the land was cleared. Very sketchy place for a gas station. I don't even wanna say it, but T-bone galore =(( And northbound traffic FLIES through there. Idk.....also, Wawa doesn't sell premium gas?

WaWa must get some serious deals on the land they use, talk about some sorry ass locations. I have given up on trying to get to the one in West Melbourne. From the west bound lane, you either have to go through the Home Depot parking lot or the wrong direction in the bank parking lot. The new one doesn't look much better.
