Thinking about a quickie flight to NY, driving thru Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and back to Niagara Falls.

What are some of the cool things to do around there?

Son and I might spend 1 day+night at each locale.

Thanks in advance!

I spent a week vaca in Montreal before. Also have been to Niagara falls. Both places are amazing. Quebec City is very interesting also (a few hours away from Montreal).

The food is incredible. Look on TripAdvisor for the best places and best prices. Incredible.

I would point out that poutine and putang are two completely different things.

And taste a whole lot different, in case you were wondering.

Whitewater on the Ottawa River.

You can raft (or use other watercraft) on Montreal's Lachine Rapids.  Montreal has a top notch botanical garden.

I've toured all over Montreal. The botanical garden is great place.

Look up what music festival is going on the week you are there and check out some of the music. There are different music fest all summer long.
when we were there it was African Music Festival. Saw some incredible (unknown to me) musical talent. I though Montreal was like a mini-manhattan.
Very metropolitan but with a European flare. Every one speaks English but French is preferred language.

For Niagara, be sure to stay on the Canadian side of the falls as it has the best view. There is a tacky tourist town and hotels overlook the falls. The small town of Niagara (further North and borders great lake) is the Canadian Napa Valley. If you are wine lover good place for that. Also, of course do the Maid of the Midst. Also, further downstream is some group power boats that are fun to ride.

How far will you be from New Brunswick? If you're trying to surf, it might be worth checking out the Bay of Fundy. Even if not, I think it would be interesting to see the tide change.
