I tried calling DOT for info and of course only got a busy signal... Has anyone tried to get a title for a car with no title? I plan on getting a surety/ title bond for it, but am told the DMV will have to determine if I'm eligible first. There is nothing which states what is considered eligible so how do I find that out?

Thanks again for answering my questions trusty 2ndlight forumers.

It depends on the state that the car came from.

They want the title so that no car that was totaled can be patched back together and driven on Floridas roads.

With no title they want every maintenance log, every repair shop reciept, every owner since before time.

If the car is from Florida some of this is easy to find and document. other states have different rules... It might be easier to go to Ga. or ALA and register it there.
