It's deep discount season for short sleeve shirts, so time to browse.

That led to spotting an innovation.  An extra pair of lace holes for boardshorts that allow you to tie your boardies tighter, in case you're losing weight or the shorts seem to want to wriggle free.    Photo at The Critical Slide Society.   More info at Surfstich, the Australian centerpiece of SurfStitch Group, including SWELL, Magic Seaweed, Stab, and Garage.  

I suspect the idea won't catch on.  

I like Patagonias.  Picked up Birdwells on a one-day sale and old-style nylon is nice, their new stretch even better.  Yes, they're made in California.  Balsa Bill is still making Florida shorts.  Leftovers from Depactus, useful.
